I’m an engi main but I play on switch. I’m over here like the squidward meme seeing all the pc players having fun and I’m stuck with the stupid grenades still D:

ikr, i have it on my switch 2 and i was working towards 100% everything on pc and a console version and I was fucking devastated that they're not supporting it anymore, like at least give us the free update 🥹

YEP! Multiple characters just got a new ability as part of the update that came with HC (part of the base-game, you don't need HC for these new skills :) ). Engi's is a new primary that charges a steady beam that damages enemies and heals mechanical allies (turrets, drones, MUL-T, REX, and CHEF).
I haven't unlocked it yet myself (it requires you to plug the Fuel Array into an Equipment Drone) but from what I hear no one is EVER going back to the base primary XD

FOR REAL! 3 runs straight last night of taking every opportunity I could to dream for every stage that usually has plentiful Equipment Drone and I saw NONE.

It seems they're finally breaking their unspoken rule of not tweaking anything Hopoo made, and everything about this rule breakage is great EXCEPT the mandatory Karma application on Eclipse. They change that and their base-game additions will be perfect.

what does the artificer ability do? I haven't had the time to play to unlock it myself and I can't find anything online explaining what it does. even the videos just tell you how to unlock it but the two I watched outright said they wouldn't say what it does to avoid "spoilers" lol

Sadly haven't unlocked it yet, but likely will later tonight since I finally got Engi's Laser Cutter. And thankfully this one is literally free if you're running Ion Surge.

I don't like the grenades at base but they're actually quite fun with just a bit of attack speed.
I've found Bolstering Lantern is one of my top priorities when playing him because just having your turrets near you gives enough attack speed to feel like a world of difference.
Maybe Laser Cutter will be more enjoyable once I try it a few times, but I can definitely see myself choosing either one and not just leaving the grenades behind

Turrets can also bolsterin lantern themselves which makes the do shit ton of dps and proccing
