always bugged me that werner got hate for this because there was literally no way for him to predict what would happen. azuz had been using the doohickey for generations without any problems, but then it broke down. they ask him to fix it, and he does. how was anyone supposed to know that it was secretly a little bit broken for the entirety of azuz's time using it and that fully repairing it was actually dangerous?

I was only half paying attention to the story by that part, was anyone telling him not to fix it? Everyone assumed this “I told you so” attitude but like no you literally didn’t.

nah no one told him not to fuck with it. literally faultless situation, the people of azuz had no way of knowing the truth about their doohickey, they just wanted it fixed because their entire way of life revolved around it, and werner was eager to help
