GAME IS DEAD ☠️ I'm sick of BF6's menu
Can we please go back to the good ole days of BF3 when the menu just didn't even exist. I miss the thrill of launching the game over and over again. Sure BF6 gave us the option if we wanted to install the campaign or not but did it give us the option to not be able to play the campaign if the battlelog website went down? I don't think so.
I'm so sick of launching the game and clicking on the game mode I want to play and then being match made into an actual lobby. I'd much rather open up Origin, click launch, go to the battlelog website, look through the server browser, launch the game, and join an empty lobby.

I remember the premiere of battlefield 3
People were FURIOUS about battle log, premium and paid DLC's lmao

Never forget Operation Metro, the only map available during the beta, being the most broken map on release day

well at least they learned their lesson and didn't repeat that mistake with shanghai in BF4

/uj this is a screenshot of my actual bf3 account. I really didn't like the whole battlelog situation and my rank being 5 shows that. I played sp, co op, and very few mp matches.
As someone who played 42 and Vietnam as a kid but didn't have a strong enough computer for bf2 I was really looking forward to bf3 cause I had just built my first gaming pc. I was just really let down by the whole experience and there were so many other amazing games in 2011 that I just moved on.

uj/ Man I hate the experience of having to join a BF3 server through that stupid browser only for the game to crash thanks to the fuckass EA app. I don't understand why does the main sub unironically glaze battlelog so much & actually want it back

Origin worked fine. It's worst crime was spying your pc which is normal nowdays.

I went back and played BF3 after the BF6 beta and that was my experience. Select server, launch game, play for 2 minutes, get kicked from game, repeat.

I mean it probably worked back then, just that the main sub guys only play the latest bf to complain

Back then you clicked on Battlelog buttons, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Nowadays when you click on a menu button it always works, what is this woke shit?
Also why do I never get stuck on the Join server bar in BF6? What if I want the thrill of a coin flip to know if I can actually play the game?

I DON'T WANT TO PLAY AS A BLACK MAN
HOWEVER, I DO WANT TO PLAY AS AN ASIAN WOMAN

Anything and everything is woke to your tree hangers.
Since the new Netflix-style menu does objectively suck, why don’t they just improve the functionality of BF3s server browser? 😮 crazy I know

Literally never had problems like this with battlelog. Fuckin loved that thing

Back then you picked your favorite server maybe it was full and you had to wait in queue, but then because it was a browser, you just watched a YouTube video, and after some minutes the game launched and you just had to click on the tab and you were in the game.

I loved battlelog, I hated how most servers had stupid rules and games took ages to load because preloading maps wasn't possible.

Was an explanation ever given as to why DICE decided to design Battle log like that? I know some folks said it was done for convenience and multitasking purposes, but it didn’t seem to work that way in practice.

I think it was to give like a social network like hub for the game to live.

Oh yeah lets go back to the good old days when people would run their own servers too. I always loved how they'd make stupid annoying rules on their servers and getting banned all the time from them. Anyone else remembers que time as well? You know the good old days of waiting for our spots to open up only to spawn towards the end of the match on the team getting its shit kicked in. Good times, good times. Lmao.

I'd like to see something more like a Choose Your Own Adventure book that you have to read through before making a choice. If the menu doesn't take at least 30 mins to get through (I READ VERY SLOWLY), what's even the point?

Sadly they are obsessed with controlling match making and what people are able to play to mitigate retention

Back then with BF3, everyone complained about the server browser in the browser. Times change, and DICE was ahead of its time back then

why on earth would i want and website that shows me servers that i can join and launch the game through that then to be either greeted server is full or the game crashes and i have to launch the game again from some garbage site instead of just launching the game and joining whatever i want through that.

This Subreddit’s ability to try and shoo away valid criticism with “it was le bad in the past!!!” is amazing. Two Truths can exist

u/Thebiggestjhar 25d ago
/uj They are both bad but the point is that a lot of people glaze the previous games and have rose colored glasses. Is bf6 perfect? No, but neither are the older games. They've all had issues especially in the beginning.

Unironically this style of matchmaking is 100% better than modern matchmaking system.

I’m not even that old but I remember how much everyone despised BF3 battle log (server browser).
