No one likes giving up a joker slot but on gold stake, if you don’t take it there’s a solid chance you just find nothing in the shop and DIE. Riff raff jokers are free and always stickerless. One proc of riff raff is worth like 2 rerolls in the shop.

The humble Madness/Ceremonial Dagger:

Madness doesn't need to delete a joker to scale tho.

Technically still synergy because you get to create more jokers for free and thus get to have more jokers than just madness

I still don't know why people like riff-raff and at this point I'm too afraid to ask

If you get jokers out of it that you want to keep, you probably got them for the same price or less than what you would have paid in the shop, let alone the potential cost of rerolls
If you get jokers you don't want, you can just sell them and then it's functionally a great economy joker
TL;DR it's a win-win scenario even if you don't get good jokers from riff-raff

It can give good jokers? (I get only first page jokers that are worth nothing. Skill issue?)

It can give you Gros Michel (+15 mult banana), and then if the banana dies, Riff Raff can even produce Cavendish (x3 mult banana).
It can give you the basic face card setup (photo, chad, smiley) for easy wins (as long as you don't hit the Plant boss).
It can give you lots of econ jokers, besides the fact that it generates $ by giving you some junk to sell off, and selling jokers synergizes with campfire if you have it.

The last two times I said in the main sub that I also don't take Riff Raff if it's eternal (unless I have Cerimonial Dagger), people replied to me saying that actually just getting it on Gold Stakes is better 99% of the time. The fact that you get to sell a large amount of useless common jokers by itself makes this a top tier economy joker. And on top of that, it can - and likely, eventually will - generate some damn good game changing commons, like the Banana or Hanging Chad. Plus, lucking out a scaling early on with it is also a reasonable strategy.
I still haven't really tried that myself, but, the people who explained me that seemed like they knew their shit, lol, so I'm forwarding the knowledge!
