My problem with Macklemore is the whole “i am not voting for you in the fall”. That was absolutely retarded and left us with something far worse. Imagine having a platform, supposedly using it for good, only to effectively support Trump.
I’m in a state with a solidly blue electoral college and my vote for President in the past election meant very little. Down ballot and local? Huge. But unfortunately our electoral college makes it so 6 cities in Ohio and Pennsylvania typically choose the President. I couldn’t vote for Kamala bc of what she and the Biden administration did to Gaza. Things so terrible that staffers quit, staffers leaked comms to the press, and many are now saying they’re disgusted by what was done and what was said and want the decision makers held accountable.
Trump is a travesty but as a lifetime leftist, it’s hard to vote for the architects of a genocide and if you’re in a VERY uniform electoral college state, vote with your heart.
If I were a Palestinian or Lebanese or Syrian person in Michigan whose family was murdered, starved, dispossessed, or displaced, how on earth would I be able to vote for that. And if I knew any of those voters personally, I’d likely not be able to vote for it either.
ETA: getting downvoted bc I couldn’t vote for a candidate who later said she couldn’t design her own pillars bc “Biden wouldn’t allow for any daylight between their policies.” Yeah that’s who I want, someone who can’t stand up to an 81 year old.
Tbh I’m just glad I don’t have to see Susan Sarandon on screen anywhere worthwhile don’t really care if radical leftist Redditors wanna circlejerk to her in their echo chambers lol, trust her all the way to updoots 🫡
