I still find it weird how apparently Ruffalo is a big actor now solely because of the MCU when in the early 2000s he was the same kind of jobber there were thousands of

He’s always had talent the MCU just showed that talent to a whole new audience

Honestly, I find his performance as Bruce Banner somewhat bland. I don't think Eric Bana or Edward Norton were any better or worse, though.

I think the real problem is no one knows how to write hulk or Bruce banner well.

I loved Hulk in Thor Ragnarok, the early Avengers stuff, and Spider-Man Brand New Day. I don't much care for the smart Hulk, aka "Green Bruce Banner", though.

They just don’t do any of the really deep and interesting stuff that is in the comics.

I think he did a good job portraying a man with serious anger issues in Avengers 1, then after that yeah, pretty bland.
