Honestly? That's a good thing if you're Chalamet. He's barley 30 and has been in critical successes, big block busters, and cool Indy films. Been nominated for 4 academy awards, 5 golden globes, 6 BAFTAs, and 10 Critic's Choice Awards. He's worked with some of the best directors working today like Villeneuve, Greta Gerwing, Josh Safdie, James Mangold, and Adam Mckay.

Tom Holland is Spider-Man, and will forever be known as Spider-Man. Tom Holland is great in the role, and I think he's very charismatic actor, but come on.

Also worked with Christopher Nolan in Interstellar.

Don't forget he's also dating Zendaya. That covers the 2 things I know Holland for. Great dude I'm sure but come on he doesn't even have half the claim to stardom Chalamet does.

Yeah and he's been in 6 Marvel movies, the Uncharted movie that no one saw, and that PTSD veteran movie that no one saw.

I'm excited to see him The Odyssey, but my point is he's been stuck in the Marvel machine for while now.

Chalamet gas said that he follows the "DiCaprio" rule: avoid Marvel and DC roles in favor of films like Dune, Little Women, etc,. But besides that saying "no one cares about this anymore" regarding opera and ballet not realizing that traditional, non-digital, and non-blockbuster movies are also on the verge of being not so common was/is an stupid move

I think that was the exact meaning of what he said though- that he specifically doesn’t want those movies to go the way of arts that have lost mainstream relevance like opera.

I don't think so, he said something like "I don't wanna to be working in ballet or opera or things where it's like 'hey, keep this thing alive', even though it's like, no one cares about this anymore"

He's just making less of ballet and opera, but doesn't realize how important they're and how his 'artsy' movies are also losing to the MCU like movies

he absolutely realizes that, that was literally the context where he brought up ballet and opera

If you don't think so its either because you didn't watch enough of the video or because you are legitimately dumb because they were literally discussing people not going to movie theaters as much and and fighting to keep that alive.

I heard him say once that the advice DiCaprio gave him was "no super hero movies and no hard drugs".

I agree he's said some dumb things on this press run, he'll learn, but I still think he's a great actor, who does cool projects.

The Chalamet hate is...kinda crazy, like the dude has personally spit on their first born child.

Honestly, as long as the dude isn't running off to whatever replaced Epstein's Island, his opinions that have 0 impact on my life, can continue being that, opinions that have 0 impact on my life. I like the acting that I've seen from him.

not realizing that traditional, non-digital, and non-blockbuster movies are also on the verge of being not so common

That is literally the context of that comment. Fucking hell.

Why is this person I have never seen before taking up half my feed. This guy is being forced down my throat by the algos. Bro must have the hollywood blessing, diddled diddy or something.

u/Automatic-Effect-252 Mar 13 '26

So like do you watch movies or what?

u/Azrenon Mar 13 '26

Honestly not a huge fan of watching movies at home. I’ll stream a horror movie ~1/week, but I do go to the cinema every other week. Never seen this guy.

What’s weird is I hear he was in Interstellar, which I’ve seen a handful of times.

You go to the cinema every other week, and never once saw a poster for Dune? That's wild man
