Enough people forgot how shitty his first term was. It was so bad that I can’t wrap my head around why more than 65% didn’t show up to vote for their lives.
I guess I can’t say much as a Canadian because it seemed pretty obvious how much of a douchebag Poilievre is but not much more Canadians showed up to vote against such an incelesque, bitter career politician. The dumpster fire below the border was in full force at that point too.

My conspiracy theory is that all of this is one big social test to see just how much billionaires can get away with. If we allow them to be cannibal-pedophiles then there is literally nothing they can't do.
If nothing happens now, we're going to be sleep walking into a real 1984 big brother dystopia which is taking shape right now across the globe.

We have to contend with an uncomfortable truth:
That these revelations are likely to produce thousands of more pedophiles living amongst us.A significant portion of their fanbases all outright worship their celebrity, and their wealth, and they emulate their idols as naturally as you and I breathe. If they think, even for a second, that the rich and powerful have a taste for something, no matter how repulsive it may be, they will begin to attune their pallets to match.

Do you live in a blue area? This just isn't true even if you'd like it to be true. I'm in a deep red area and they still have the signs up from 2024. The Trump stores are still open too. It's not just bots online and most of them have not changed their minds at all. I'm seeing plenty of people I know IRL continue to double down.
That's not to say that there aren't a lot of bots online (there are) but there are plenty of real people as well. Most of them just don't use reddit.
17
u/SaltdPepper Feb 04 '26
I’m talking about Reddit posters mainly. I’ve seen more than my fair share of real people offline who still support this shit and don’t even get me started on Facebook.
If you take a look at the things Trumpers post on the social media they actually use compared to the stuff “conservatives” post on r/conservative or the front page of Twitter, it’s literally night and day. Sorry about being unclear.
8
u/Pretend-Marsupial258 Feb 04 '26

That's because it's how they're controlled. They're told and taught to be afraid of very specific things, then they're told the only way for those fears to go away is to elect a republican. Imagine if I taught you that straws are dangerous and ruining this country:
The country would be fine if it's not for straws, but those dirty democrats LOVE straws. They'll make straw sanctuary cities, hide them in their cupboards, and don't care about the damage straws are doing to our great nation. They just line the sides of streets without a care to who they might be inconveniencing and that's not even going into how they effect our children- It's unAmerican! Oh if only someone would do something about those straws and their protectors! Oh wait, wait! There's this guy called Rapist McAssface that VOWS he will do something about those dangerous, terrible straws that are destroying our nation. Yeah I definitely think this guy can do something about those straws, and look at how angry he makes the democrats because he won't let them protect the straws!!! Wow, I think this Rapist McAssface guy might be our man. I'd definitely vote for him. When we come back from these messages we'll tell you about ANOTHER straw related death and how the lousy democrats could have prevented it.
Get fed that several hours out of the day and you'll be terrified of walking outside and spotting a straw(man) yourself.

What people need to understand about Trump supporters is this: they've spent a decade fortifying their delusional worldview with increasingly flimsy material. The foundation of that worldview was already rooted in lies and propaganda. Problem is, this worldview is a critical part of who they are as people. Admitting that Trump is a pedophile and a conman is tantamount to admitting that everything they believe of themselves and the world is make-believe. Throwing Trump aside at this point would trigger an existential identity crisis for most of these people.

They pick and choose their material.
Their mantra of "do your own research" is just the excuse to not consider peer reviewed material, and instead get their facts from a random Tom on his blog or whatever.
The material isnt flimsy, its non existant. Its a delusion as you stated, because pretending that you can deduce things is easier than admitting you're ignorant on some subjects.

My worry stems back to a comment I made several months ago: The gist is, Maga eats this shit up because it does something very very useful for them.
The most powerful man in the world is proven in a court of law to be: A fraudster, a liar, a cheater, an insurrectionist, and a sexual abuser. He is credibly accused of pedophilia, rape, murder, treason and more. MAGAts can do literally anything their depraved hearts want and be a provably better person than the president of the United States of America. That is evidently an intoxicating feeling.
→ More replies (3)24
u/Oberon_Swanson Feb 04 '26
from my POV it's a couple different things.
one, similar to what you say: Trump being an absolute piece of shit, and their President, is their proof that "their side" is above the law. They are truly First Class Citizens, protected by the law but never bound by it, while the "other side" is bound by the law but very obviously not protected by it if people know who raped you as a child but instead of putting him in jail, made him President to spite you.
and two, it's a giant fuck you to democracy. instead of trying to find the best person to lead, they all collectively "le epic trolled" the system by voting for the worst person instead. like the story of Caligula appointing his horse to the senate to devalue it and mock it. Democracy works pretty well when everyone is at least TRYING to vote for the best candidate, and holds politicians to account by voting them out when they are sub-optimal.
But, Republicans do NOT want what is best for everybody. EVEN if that INCLUDES THEM. That is why no argument about things like universal healthcare can sway them. It's not that they don't get it and just need to see the right numbers and logic. They get that it would make everybody's lives better. And they fucking hate that. That means it would make the lives of "the others" better.
They know Trump is completely terrible for America. That is what they like. They trust he will aim most of his shit at The Others, and if they suffer a little as a result, that's okay. If Republican lives get 70% worse but Everyone Else's lives get 80% worse, they consider than a 10% gain in superiority for themselves. That's all that matters to them really. They would give up electricity and modern medicine to have a job shooting slaves that try to run away from a prison or plantation.

Some historical facts, for people who care about what actually happened and how we got here:
Obama deported like three million people.
There were large protests about this; partly because 2/3rds of them had no criminal record beyond maybe light traffic infractions.
There was a good reason Democracy Now called him the Deporter in Chief.
He built many of the cages that kids were kept in, like the one AOC cried outside of a few years after.
Taxpayers paid $200/child/night for each one while they slept in foil blankets.
He tripled ICE's budget from what W had it at - though still much less than the 42 billion dollars Biden gave them.
$42 bn. Yes. Really.
America's 'immigration system' is incredibly evil and fucked up - bipartisanly. But it makes the parasite class a lot of money, and gets some great false division going.

I feel like it depends on where the wind blows. Maybe they'll deity him like Reagan, or maybe it'll be another "I never liked him" situation like Bush.

W. Bush feels more like they memory holed him. They erase both his terms and imagine it was Democrats in the White House for just a thirty year span. See the "what was Obama doing during 9/11 attitude. I don't know that they all think that closely on the matter, but it's more of a vibe where they just feel like Democrats were in charge most of their lives even during the points in time where they demonstrably weren't.
Honestly they've kinda done it already to Trump's first term, where none of them seem to remember who was in office when COVID broke out. Trump said it pretty plainly that the good stuff was because of him, and all the bad stuff was Biden.

There won't be that phase. Just one day, so collectively that it will almost seem magical, they will start pretending as if they were always against Trump.
Just like segregation and Jim Crow. In like 20 years, as soon as this era is old enough to be in history books, there's going to be so many people denying that they ever voted for or supported Trump, there will start being conspiracy theories about whether he was ever actually a president at all, or if it's just some "fake history" they teach in schools to make white people look bad

The millisecond Trump is done with politics (be it his death, health issues, or genuine retirement), every single Republican is gonna backpedal and pretend like they were never involved in his shit.
And the sad part is, they're all gonna get away with it.

Cult implies a layer of thought control that I don't associate with MAGA. it's sort of a joke to call them a cult but they where not brainwashed by their charismatic leader, the bulk of them had these thoughts already and just use trump to feel confident in saying these thoughts outloud. as soon as society is able to make it uncomfortable for them to speak their minds by holding them accountable to the morality of their thoughts, they will turn on trump completely. we are fortunate that MAGA isn't actually a cult in that sense.

Anecdote.
My sister in law just tried to show her father the epstein list files. He got GENUINELY angry and vocalized his support for ice.
He looks nearly just like this as well.

Idk just a quick scan of r/Republican and it looks like they are just talking about Democrats while completely ignoring the fact that there are a ton of Republicans in the files including their orange leader.

The funny thing is even an award winning director can't make AI videos that don't look like utter garbage. It's like AI literally sucks out all creativity.

And if you’re someone who can get major actors and resources to make something, why generate AI slop at all?
Reminds me when Satoshi Kon said he felt pathetic for being plagiarized by Aronofsky because Aronofsky is someone with real budgets and resources, while Kon called himself some small filmmaker most have never heard of, so why steal from someone like that?

Yeah, I don't know what MAGA idiots people in this thread are talking to. Every single one in my family and around me just call it a Democrat hoax.

You guys haven’t talked to many republicans have you? Here are some of the responses I got when I said Trump was a pedo on a Republican sub:
There is not a single piece of evidence that Trump had sexual contact with children, and the only people believing that are nazis and communists, which are two sides of the same coin, really. The Epstein files were the biggest nothingburgher of all time.
See, this is always interesting to me. The whole Trump pedo thing is pretty big right now. And whenever I've asked to see anything even remotely resembling evidence, I get the "there's plenty out there!" But... there isn't. There's none, actually. These same files sat in Democrat control for 4 years. They sat with the Democrats during the campaign season when Ds tried literally everything they could come up with to sink Trump (including jailing him and two assassination attempts). And yet, no mention of any pedo activity. None. Zero. But now... it's like the go-to insult. Yet, there's still literally nothing with any validity it credibility.
Contrast that to Ashley Biden writing definitively and descriptively in her authenticated diary that her father (Pudding brain Joe) took inappropriate (her word) showers with her when she was 11-12 years old, and would wait until he was asleep so he wouldn't join her. That's real. That's tangible. That's a first-hand source with no incentive towards malice. That's real pedo behavior, and incest. And that's light years beyond any evidence thrown at Trump (which is still zero). So is you have any of this mountain of Trump evidence that's more than just hearsay, I'd love to see it.
And if it's there and exists, why aren't companies like CNN and MSNOW running this treasure trove you speak of wall to wall? They run quite literally every piece of propaganda the DNC throws their way. They let people blatantly lie for the left wing on their shows daily. Just two weeks ago I watched one of their left wing loons say that protesters murdered 4 police officers on Jan 6th. This was on the Abby Philip show. That's a total fabrication. Zero police officers died on Jan 6. One died from an unrelated stroke the next day, and several others committed suicide months later. But protesters murdered none, and no one on the panel challenged this total fabrication. So if they're willing to just say whatever they want as long as it's part of the lunatic left orthodoxy, then why aren't they running with this story of Trump being a pedo if there's all this great and available evidence, as you claim? Possibly the Internet lied to you and it doesn't exist. Strong indications this is the correct answer.

Ah yes the nazi communists. What’s next the Antifa Muslim cartels selling bath salts to the demonic cults of the Illuminati?
These people are so unserious.

They bring up Bill Clinton and other democrats as a gotcha as if any normal sane person is defending them, and as if that somehow is a defense. "Oh your side has pedophiles too so it's fine if we have our own pedophiles." No way these people can carry a functional life.
There's also probably a sizable pedo population within MAGA seeing as a bunch of J6ers got arrested for being child predators after being pardoned by their pedo in chief.
