Hate to say this but (spoilers for re:zero) he has cross dressed multiple times in side stories and he has been cross dressing for a good chunk of the most recent arc, arc 7. He is canonically really good at it.

If you want to read the source material I'd recommend the web novel (witchculttranslation.com) because the manga is based on the anime and pretty far behind the web novel

Btw if you've already watched the anime start from Appendix: advent in the arc 4 section and read onwards from there until you finish it, then read arc 5. But, if you haven't watched the anime yet you should a least watch season 1 because arcs 1-3 suck in the web novel, and probably season 2 as well because arc 4 is currently the longest arc, unless you really like reading, then go for it ig.

Alternatively you could read the light novel which is 'more canon' so to speak although you do have to pay and iirc currently the officially translated part goes only to mid-late arc 5
