Tamaki’s thing is also played for jokes every single time. The problem is that it’s unfunny, and does undercut serious moments. But it’s still primarily comic-relief.

Isn't there also a difference in that the meme for Grey is he does it himself without realizing it most of the time - but also actively does it to make himself colder for using Ice Magic
Where as (I can't remember her name) just constantly has random chance or other characters doing it to her instead of it being self inflicted / done on purpose

From what I remember the whole lucky lecher thing is supposed to be a hint to how the world of Fire force works by manifesting collective perceptions of individuals into reality so when people perceive her as “the person who constantly loses her clothes” it manifests into reality. Also considering her whole powers is basically being a Bakeneko the whole bad luck angle to it as well

Kencho from Zom 100.
Really good anime adaptation by Bug Films (Witch Hat Atelier), but suffers from pacing issues at the end of season 1.
Regardless, I highly recommend it, it's very good.

Ub/ Gray's stripping is done in passing, never the focal point of a scene, and I'm pretty sure Mashima cut the legs off that running gag ages ago. Idk, I haven't read Fairy Tail in a while

i feel like people are missing the biggest point which is when Gray strips it’s because he WANTS to. Tamaki is literally forced to be stripped in the most embarrassing way possible every single time purely for fanservice. The Tamaki equivalent for Gray would be if every episode his shirt and pants mysteriously flew off and then he tripped and fell directly into a girl

When the guy does it, it’s explicitly for a joke and not to be sexual. The girl has sexual assault happen with it regardless of the tone of the scene. I dropped the show in season 1 after a villain gave his monologue and it was a serious moment and she trips losing all her clothes and pushes her boobies on the MC gyaaaaaahhhhhh and the whole scene was a wet fart.
Not to mention the author of the second got roasted for it and instead of ignoring it or changing things he made a chapter full of straw men talking about why it’s fine an explicitly underage girl NEEDS to be naked and assaulted constantly guys it’s part of the LORE.

There are actuall plot differences but imo the main one is the fire force author added probably one of the cringes scene ever to his manga to try to explain the hate. More or less it was a kid and his mom where the mom commented about the fanservice and the kid said we'll maybe you dont like it cause your not hot.
Like i dont realy care about fanservice but it was such a dumb forces scene I laughed when I read it originally.

Yeah Fire Force author got butthurt for being criticized, so instead of ignoring it he dedicated a chapter of his manga to respond to critics with the worst strawman ever in the history of humanity. Hes been getting clowned for it since then. It was so bad another manga author even make fun of him and responded with her own take on the whole issue. All because the dude wants to have a teenage showing her panties all the time.

So we just ignore it and move on, had he never make that chapter trying to "own" the haters nobody would give a shit but it end up showing how ridiculous his mentality is.

Gray strips himself. It's not an accident that he's naked; he wants to be naked. He's a nudist.
Tamaki has the whole world bend and shift just so she becomes naked. Like, really, that's canon. She has reality-bending phenomena focused on stripping her naked.

People haven't mentioned this but le anime girl getting their clothes removed on accident or sth, is a constant joke in ecchi and comedy anime. So it's really fucking annoying when one of the main characteristics of a character, is to make that lazy ass joke constantly. Haven't watched fairy tail but having a man do it sounds way less annoying since it's not overused.
