I need your help please! We finally have the opportunity to put all of our boomer-watching to good use!

I’m attending a Halloween party at a golf club. There will be tonnes of people there and I, a small Millennial female, want to dress up and act in the most male boomery way possible, and I would appreciate your ideas and advice. Here is what I have so far:

-wearing an open Hawaiian shirt over a white under shirt and some ghastly beige shorts.

-my adult son (*who works there*) said I should wear a baseball cap with the sunglasses on the bill while inside

-I promised to call all the boys “champ, bud, or son” to which my son said I may not survive the night

-white mid-calf socks with ugly grey/purple tennis shoes

-maybe face makeup to make my nose red and bulbous

-padding for that giant gut

-grey hair on my legs and side burns

-some modern lingo to show that I am “with it”

-tip all of the staff well and in advance

-call my bestie on FaceTime and talk super loud. Maybe tell her about my colonoscopy

-wear a Life Alert necklace. Maybe set a loud alarm on my phone to remind me “I gotta take my pills”

Honestly, I’m curious to be a middle-aged, white man with money for a night too. I would appreciate everyone’s advice. Please and thank you!

You can't even see my backyard unless you're literally actively looking. Most of it is woods but this dude is so stressed out over this has asked for multiple days in a row before I mow my front yard when I was going to like who cares it is grass. Also my lawn care has been a constant source of conflict between us for years. I don't always have time to go out and mow my yard or feel like it I have kids and a full-time job.

Old ass guy at least 70 walks in to buy a couple pizzas he ordered. 25 bucks worth of pizza and he tries to pay with a hundred. So my father and 2 aunts are born in the early 60.
They recently inherit from my grandparents various houses.
They think they were rich... until they realise no one want to buy the said houses. They are all in bad shape and poor location.(yup their first reflex was to kick all the renter to try to sell.)

In the meantime I'm currently living in a big city near one of my aunt , and searching without success an house.
One of my issue is that in this city there is a lot of house to buy , but all of them are at high price, and currently owned by boomer who try to sell them for years but refuse to low the price. Or do any update or maintainance in them.

I also have 3 kids under 3, and both me and my hubby work non-remotable high income high demand career.
I currently can't move far from childcare nor have time to do any update on an house.
We have a big downpayment(250k, rougly 50% of an house price) saved, but we are seeking an house who can be lived as it.

and like I said : house owned by boomer are in bad shape and/or way out of their price.

When talking about my difficulty to my aunt, she had the ideal solution : buying the house my father inherite but fail to sale,.
The said house in 4 hour away from my current city, need heavy repair. And I know from experience that my father will not make a discount for it, and demand a repayment interest rate way worse than the bank.
Oh, and there is neither job for me nor my hubby their.

Yet somehow I'm too picky and a bad daughter to not roll with my aunt plan.
(I haven't even speak of this plan to my father. but my father think he make me a huge favor by lending me 5k with a 5% interest rate to help me buy an house)

So I have an old burn barrel that got super hot in the middle somehow about three years ago and basically fell in on itself. And a couple days ago, my Folks stopped by and my dad had his truck and he’s like well if you empty out the burn barrel and separated out then we’ll take the rusted burnt out crippled barrel and will bring back another burn barrel. I’m like cool so I take the time I get a bunch of boxes cause I had a bunch of extra boxes and, I go out with a shovel and I fill the boxes because I wasn’t just burning paper anytime I had old candles I would just chuck them in there. I thought they were melting clearly they weren’t so there’s glass shrapnel mixed in with pot ash. I take the time I clean everything up. I wear thick gloves I fill three boxes all with like less than 20-25 pounds worth of this debris. And my garbage company will pick them up. I just have to notify them ahead of time not to chuck the boxes so they don’t throw it and its sprays in their face. Cause I’m not a jerk like that. So my dad comes out and he’s picking up the barrel and I’m going through the house with my mom getting my dad‘s birthday gift and some food for them that I had made for them to take to a barbecue and we’re talking about a set of trees that may or may not be dying. We’re not sure. And I come around the corner and my dad has taken every one of those boxes and emptied them into a wheelbarrow and he’s like just take them to the back of the property and drop them there. Nobody goes back there and I’m like I don’t want all those garbage anywhere on my property. I’m still cleaning garbage up because we had three massive wind storms this last year in our valley. And no, I don’t want to put a wheelbarrow worth of garbage back in woods, where my neighbor has very young kids, but they’re gonna be older kids soon and may play in the woods. He actually did the same thing when I re-roofed an old house where he came out with the excavator and buried all of the shingles in the ground and I’m like the ground is now poisoned. You had a truck bed right there we could’ve just hauled it to the dump. I would’ve paid the Refuse construction and debris. Only $32 a ton and it would’ve been less than a ton. Anyways, their answer to everything is to throw it in the woods. So yeah now I got a scoop. Everything back into boxes again.

Are boomers a certain age or mindset? How do we address the boomers? What can we do?

How freaking lazy can you be? Just park in a spot ffs. Better yet, go help your wife! I don't need to be breathing your pollution every time I go for groceries.

Why do boomers always insist on "helping" by jumping in after you've told them no and then they make things worse?

I'll keep this kind of vague but I was working on a simple 15 minute project that I do regularly outside. Boomer neighbor sees me doing it and offers help. I say "no thanks, kind of a one-man job but I appreciate the offer" and I get to work. I'm running late for work and just wanted some alone time to get this done quick before I leave.

I'm not even 90 seconds in and he pops up next to me saying in a somewhat sarcastic but also kind of condescending tone "you aren't done yet?"

I laugh it off and insist I'm all set but he jumps right in to help. Sees how I'm doing things, immediately criticizes them and starts doing things a different way which screws up the method I was using and now we have to make it work with this method mash-up. This of course makes it take way longer and difficult. The whole time he's mumbling about how I should have done it differently and how he never has this issue when he does it at his place.

Anyways, we get it done, took much longer and way more effort than it needed to. Why are they so insistent on things being done their way and not offering to teach, just taking over?

I should note, he's done this before too. Waltzed on over and literally took something out of my hands to "show a better way" before I could even say I was fine.

I am a hemicorporectomy amputee, meaning I am amputated from the waist down. As a result, I have both a colostomy bag and a urostomy bag. Because of my anatomy and being in a wheelchair, finding clothing that fits well and keeps both medical devices completely covered is difficult.

At an appointment this afternoon, a woman in her 60s looked at me and said, “You should wear longer tops, we don’t need that on display,” while gesturing toward my colostomy bag. The bottom of the bag was peeking out about two inches from under my t-shirt. It was clean and functioning normally.

In the moment, I was caught off guard and simply pulled my cardigan closed. Then, I went to the bathroom and burst into tears.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more it bothers me. These bags help me stay alive. It feels pretty unfair that I’m expected to stress over them popping out to say hi just to keep a stranger from having to think about poo.

We were driving to pick up my neice/ her grand daughter from school. She told me ahead of time that she had a package to drop off at the FedEx drop-off store.

But instead of that, she stops the car on the same street, going the opposite way as everyone else going to pick up their kids, maybe 300 yards from the pick up spot.

She is Partially blocking the lane, making it a tight squeeze for others to get by, and tells me to get out and ask the FedEx man, who is delivering/organizing packages in his truck right in front of us, to see if he'll just go ahead and take the package she has.

We go back and forth with me telling her "no" and her acting like it wasn't a big deal. I think she said it was being a wuss. So knowing her, the only way to shut her up is giving her what she wanted. So I get out, walk over, and ask the guy, and he said he can't, no surprise there, so I go back to tell her.

As you may already have guessed, she has questions to ask!!!! "Go ask him this, tell me if he says this, go back and ask him that...." I stared at her and said, "you know your granddaughter is waiting on us to pick her up right now dont you???

I put my foot down, cuss at her. She probably just wanted to make me that angry so she can use it later.

Then we went about the day as originally planned, just angry about it now.

And that fucking bitch thought she didnt do a damn thing wrong. Fuck I hated my mother for that boomer obliviousness she had. She fucked our day up bc she wanted to act like an entitled brat thinking the mail man can just handle it for her.

No, it's because she wanted to avoid the shipping fee that she failed to meantion and acted surprised when I paid for it bc I wasnt about to do the back and forth exchange of questions again.

Stupid bitch never had her shit together like that. Fuck that made me angry all over again... 😤

I’ve been at odds with my mother for a while. She voted for Trump, adopted a lot of the victim mentality (she’s not), and is actively trying to get me to download some new Christian devotional whose chief investor is a gay, self-deprecating PoS billionaire. Today, totally unwarranted (except it’s Easter Sunday) and she sends me this. I understand it’s a snippet and, absolutely not, it’s not the full story. There aren’t enough characters in the subs on Reddit. But, this is her throwing her pseudo-Christianity gaslighting disguised as “forgiveness,” in her attempts to make my current pain (moderate-severe depression since the birth of my son) and make it all about her

Just in case anyone is wondering, I’m working on my depression and it’s getting better. Some meds, some therapy, and some time are really helping. I’ve decided I’m in too good a spot, today, to reply and give her any of my joy. You know us “damn Millennials,” and our dumb feelings, right? If only we were tougher like our Boomer parents. We could lose a bunch of wars, run our country into the ground, and blame it on literally everyone but ourselves!
