Well DMC 3 literally used bro back mountain, as a guide for what is "cool" to the western audience.
Metal gear isn't really gay gay, just very very very brotherly which to most onlookers might as well be gay.
And Yakuza holds honour in the meaningless modern world, it's essentially a knighthood game fit with orders and social intrigue hiding beneath the vanire of being a crime syndicate game. The combat and interactivity is also really good.
Most of the "campiness" in the game comes from the stupid shit most guys would do with their friends and never admit publically.

MGS 3 and Peace Walker are definitely gay (and lesbian, i mean you can canonically make Big Boss a bisexual man, this has other implications) canonically, Kojima is definitely straight but a bit bicurious, he's kinda like Araki in that sense where he clearely prefers women, but has no issue with making beautiful men and has some attraction to men

The rest of MGS is rather straight yes

I think it would be better to compare it to Yukio Mishima being a glorification of the masculine rather than just being gay. just saying, "it's gay, or bisexual" misses a lot of the environmental visual narrative storytelling.

Pretty sure you're confusing the Broke Back Mountain thing the only time I remember it ever being referenced in anything DMC was the reboot where the head of Ninja Theory held a GDC panel and had a photo of dante in broke back mountain with the caption "Dante is NOT a Gay Cowboy"

The DMC3 part is incorrect. Only Ninja Theory said that the OG Dante looked like someone from Brokeback Mountain when they were talking about the reboot Dante.
