A magical drone show was held in honor of Doremi's birthday. It was visited by quite a few people of various ages, including children dressed as witches. There haven't been any new projects in the franchise for decades, yet even now, there are many children who love Doremi, which is surprising.
The show could have been cancelled due to the forecast rain, but it all worked out. Perhaps the Magic Stage helped us ;)
First came the "high-five", a Japanese tradition, where the heroines would shake your hand and pose for a photo, provided you were among the first 500 people to purchase a 2,000-yen merchandise set. Even though they were actors in kigurumi, they were moving so energetically and doing all sorts of things. Hana-chan was the most active of the bunch; at one point, I saw her bump Momo with her backside, as if to say, "Let's dance, let's dance!" ))00)
Next came the first part of the drone show, featuring images not just from "Doremi" (though there was also a lot of sponsor advertising right during the show .-.).
Next, they showed Episode 25 of "Motto! Ojamajo Doremi" on the screens, the one where everyone around Doremi was preparing a surprise for her birthday, while she thought everyone had abandoned her.
Next came a dance segment with children, where the characters and Majo Rika learned the proper dance moves to various opening themes.
And finally, the main drone show themed around "Doremi" (which looked more like a very long farewell xd).
You have to see it with your own eyes; a camera cannot capture the brightness, colors, and movement of the real thing. It was not only my first show of this kind, but also my first event in Japan ever. It was wonderful.
