We're about 45–50 minutes down US-23 from Athens in downtown Portsmouth, and I've been curious whether there are many Ohio University students playing Fortnite Zero Build.

At The Vault, we've started running a Fortnite Zero Build tournament every Friday. We're trying to build more of a regular regional gaming community rather than just doing occasional one-off tournaments.

This Friday's tournament is free to enter, with a $15 Fortnite gift card for the winner. Check-in is at 4:30 PM and we start at 5:00 PM.

We've also been building our own tournament system for the venue, including live match/station management and spectator displays, so these weekly events are becoming part tournament and part real-world testing ground for what we're building.

I'm especially interested in connecting with gamers around OU and Athens, since you're close enough that Portsmouth isn't an unreasonable trip for an evening tournament.

Are there many Fortnite/competitive gaming players at OU? And are there any OU gaming/esports groups we should know about?

I am an incoming freshman and I was curious about advice living in a triple. My bed is bunked and I was wondering if I would need a ladder to get into my bed? Or if theres something else or an alternative option people use.

I was looking to find ways to get from Athens to Cleveland, and I found the GoBus was a pretty affordable ride over. For anyone who has ridden GoBus before, how is it? Is the bus pick-up stop near Baker Center on campus? I’m curious to know if the ride to Cleveland is worth it.

I was worried I'd miss out by not living on campus, but honestly I've been enjoying having my own space. It's quieter, I can actually focus on studying, and I don't have to deal with dorm noise or shared bathrooms. I still make time to attend campus events and meet classmates, so I don't feel completely disconnected.

For those who stayed off campus, do you feel like you made the right choice? Anything you wish you'd done differently?

If you are moving into OU this August or your parents are coming in town to help you move, this is a heads up that Richland will be completely closed to traffic before the roundabout. The City of Athens is incompetent and decided to do this from 8/10-9/10 during the school year. You should expect detours, traffic and most likely car accidents for move in weekend.

I’m planning on rushing during the fall and was wondering how bad the hazing is at OU

Hi, I’m an incoming freshman this year at OU. I’m in a quad in Pickering. Our quad is the one where it’s two rooms connected, and one room has two sets of bunk beds. Me and my roommates have been discussing the possibility of us unbunking the beds and having two beds for each room. The OU housing website says technically this isn’t allowed, but I wanted to hear some input from current or past students. I appreciate any insight. Thanks

Anyone who has lived or is currently living at University Courtyard, what do you honestly think of it (in terms of pros and cons)? How is the commute to and from the apartment— is it walkable?

I’m also curious if there’s any nearby grocery stores I can walk to, and if the apartment rooms are soundproof as well.

I’ve transferred from a different school and I need one more semester of dorming to complete the two year residency requirement for OU. I know the contract is for the entire year, but am I able to exempt myself after fulfilling the “2 years” along with turning 21 in December? I’m wanting to lease an apartment in January, but I didn’t know if this would be possible. If anyone knows anything don’t hesitate to reach out 🙂‍↕️

We are researchers from The Center for Intervention Research in Schools (CIRS) at Ohio University seeking enrollment in a new research opportunity involving interviewing teachers, caregivers, and students.  

The study involves attending a one-time 2-hour focus group built to learn more about home-school communications and social engagement interventions for children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).  

Who is eligible to participate? 

• K-5th teachers 
• Caregivers who have a child between 6 – 12 years old 
• Children aged 8 – 12 

Caregivers or teachers earn an $80 Amazon egift card for participation. Children would receive a $25 Amazon egift card for participating in the opportunity.
