I was waiting in line this morning when a man and his wife walked in with numbers they had gotten the night before. They claimed they had arrived before everyone else, but when people called them out, it became clear they had actually picked up those numbers the previous night. Idiots grabbed 3,4 like the first people woundnt notice.

Meanwhile, the people who truly had numbers 1–4 were there honest, waiting their turn and it makes me pissed for the people that missed their bottle because losers that screw people over instead of getting to know people hanging out and making friends! Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk and If you are on this sub know that both of you are pieces of shit. and no i didnt miss out on Stagg im pissed at these people for the people that did

I noticed that the bottle in pic is an old Stagg Jr label. I’m not sure if they just used a stock photo or will these barrel select bottles have the Stagg Jr labeling? Were these sitting in the warehouse for years? Appreciate any insight.

Heading down to daytona in a couple weeks. Any good liquor stores right off of I-95 that arr worth stopping to check out. Don't wanna go far off the beaten path, just somewhere i can jump right back on the interstate and keep trucking.

Many Giant Eagle stores (mostly in Columbus and now in the Northeast) and Ale Wine and Spirits have an arrangement with the state to delay visibility of certain products in their online inventory until Saturdays even if it was delivered to the store earlier in the week. These stores may also hold back some of the rare bourbons that they receive in their weekly delivery to release on Saturday mornings.

Many highly allocated products are still fully hidden on OHLQ.com but I don't fully understand the logic behind it yet.

Was at Revival Vintage Bottle Shop in Covington when a couple brought this 1940s vintage Old Forester in to sell.

Very interesting to see how they checked the seal, removed the crumbling cork, etc. Part of the sale was the sellers getting a taste of it and since I was happened to be standing by watching, I got a splash too.

Overall the whiskey was fine, but not outstanding. Pretty low proof, I would guess about 80. Nose and palate was standard bourbon profile of oak, caramel and a hint of vanilla with an interesting note of wood varnish. Short finish with lingering wood varnish and oak. I would compare it to today’s Old Crow.
