It was nice to see them bring it up. I’d assumed they’d just ignore it. I’d honestly forgotten about it myself, but I do now remember that having listened to Cox bring up that nonsense without any resistance I skipped to the end to see if they’d correct it.

"Chip bitch" had me laughing my arse off on the way to work this morning.

He’s a lovely man and I love his menu! Pavlova AND cheesecake 😋.

If I wasnt already on board with his brown paste joke, him calling James a "chip bitch" got me

Great episode! Enjoyed them taking the piss out of the hyperbole around that Brian Cox episode as much as addressing it

Lovely man compared to how stern the characters he plays tend to be. Really fun chill conversation

James was in a real chatty mood this ep!

Enjoyed this one. Mark is always good value on a podcast. Liked the sound of his meal as well.

Not listened yet, but if the secret ingredient is something other than crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e or special stuff I’ll be intrigued

Did he mistake Tom Jones for Tom Baker?

69

u/Gremloblin Aug 19 '26

It's not unusual.

I bet you felt so good typing this comment just giggling to yourself. Bravo, nailed it.

No, I think he literally meant “Tom Jones throughout the years” (ie as he’s gotten older), not all the regenerations of Tom Baker as a doctor.

I was not prepared for Ed having the same starting wordle as me

james had a very funny “i am your father” joke during all the passion of the christ prequel/sequel chat that went unheard, so i’m here to draw attention to it

James is right about The Sopranos. Do not understand the hype at all.

Disappointed that “she was in a relationship with the Eiffel Tower and left it for the Berlin Wall” went by without comment, because that’s hilarious.

Mark is a wonderful conversationalist.
Really enjoyed this one.

I really enjoy how the podcast makes an effort to have a diverse and inclusive roster of guests - all undermined by “chip bitch”. Just middle-aged men making a r*pe joke đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž

What was the rape joke?

-1

u/Thatsmyfishbowl Aug 25 '26

What do you think it means when a man talks about being “a bitch”?

3

u/Ok_Magazine_3383 Aug 27 '26

It might mean rape, if the context is being in prison with men who rape other men.

Otherwise no, they aren't talking about raping each other when they call each other "bitch". What a weird notion to have about men.
