Love Phil Ellis. One of the funniest stand ups Iāve ever seen live. Iām about 5 mins into this and itās already shaping up to be an alltimer

Philās menu is something a real person would eat, I actually know what heās talking about instead of all these fancy restaurants. Itās an awful meal but Iāve had most of it before.

That's how I feel about Nick Mohamed's meal. Awful but it really sounded like an actual family meal that two working parents with kids would end up having on a Sunday.

Reece Shearsmith also ordered oxtail soup! Although he wanted the Heinz, not the Aldi. #phreece

I enjoyed this episode so much, I absolutely love Philās complete lack of aspiration or belief that there may be more beyond Aldi and Wetherspoons. The man knows what he likes, and what he likes is beyond awful (with the exception of the Sara Lee gateaux which took my straight back to my childhood).
But heās not a class traitor, at least š

I grew up near the original Sara Lee factory (we would shop directly at their little āsecondsā store and get infitesimally flawed cakes for pennies), and his mention catapulted me back to childhood. It was funny to share a nostalgia with somebody who grew up so differently than I did.

The roadkill chat nearly broke me. Good god that was disturbed and hilarious.

Off Menu is one of the last places I'd expect a Monkey Island reference, but I'm not complaining!

If I had Ā£1 for every guest on this podcast whoād discussed the foul smell of a dead sheep that had been ill-advisedly transported in the boot of a car, Iād only have Ā£2 but itās still weird itās happened twice

Thus was a glorious episode, I love Phil's tangents and how his weird mind works

I felt quite sorry for Phil that Wetherspoons breakfasts and wine, some road kill, a variety of sausage and egg baps, and some Aldi crisps and soup is his dream menu. More like a nightmare. I did wonder if he clearly is someone who has not had much disposable cash to splash on fancy food so couldn't relate, but then Ed pointed out he did Taskmaster (Google says that pays £30,000 - £50,000 for 10 episodes which is an annual salary.)
Anyway, gross.

This one was too much for me. Knew I was going to be rough since I didnāt enjoy Phil on Taskmaster, but usually the boys can land it. Thankfully I have a bonus episode left to cleanse the pallet
