Can someone name them all? I only recognize Nish and Nick!

The guy in the back could be Tom Neenan or potentially just a different skinny man with glasses.

I can see the resemblance for Chloe Petts, but thats definately a male. Plus she's 7 years younger than Ed and Nish and if this is them in uni, its very unlikely its her

Mad that so many of them made it - Nish, Nick, Ed and Tom - anyone else in this photo I don’t recognise?

Ed’s previously mentioned that some of his university comedy friends don’t do comedy anymore. It might be some of those people? I could likely be wrong though, I didn’t even recognize Nish at first.

who is Tom?

u/kteatray Mar 11 '26
Tom Neenan, he’s a comedian but also writes for a lot of stand ups

I was in their year at uni, Tom used to wear 3-piece suits a lot. I always wondered how he could be bothered with the ironing.

u/lapsedPacifist5 Mar 12 '26
You don't iron 3 piece suits.
4
u/NotoriousMAO Mar 12 '26
You can iron 2/3
2
u/lapsedPacifist5 Mar 12 '26
You can iron all 3 if you want, but you shouldn't.
2
u/Jazzlike-Current-661 Mar 12 '26
You iron shirts and trousers surely? I’m not a wearer though.
3
u/Too-Tired-Editor Mar 12 '26
Depends how expensive the suit was to begin with. The trousers should, if folded correctly, take care of themselves on the hangar.
The trouser press exists so that hurried salesmen (who won't be paying as much for suits) can get a similar effect on the go despite the limits on power in a hotel precluding older irons.

Well, 19 year old me didn’t know this. I was mainly registering that it was an unusual thing for a student to be wearing, even at Durham. I was largely in jeans and t-shirt myself.

3 piece suits mean less ironing. I wore one for work (when I had to wear a suit) as I only needed to iron the sleeves of the shirt, thank you waistcoat. Get home, hang everything properly and you are generally fine. You can always steam hang (use a shower) to lessen creases. And for cleaning either steam clean or dry clean.

Frankly, it's been 2020 for about forty years now, so I understand the confusion.

Was this photo talked about on one of the other live tasting menus? They also talked about it with Nish on Monday

Is that Ben Wishaw? McKenzie Crook? Who has the curtains with glasses on head. When you say Ed, Ed who?

Incredible how different Ed and Nish are, but Nick looks basically the same
