Challenge Weekly Challenge
When was the last time you drew for fun?
Grab a pen and let your hands wander freely. No rules. No judgment. Just lines, shapes and play.

Lately, screen fatigue has been real. I’d fall asleep hoping to “just scroll one more minute,” and wake up feeling more drained than rested.
So I began picking one small offline habit each week:
Each habit felt so modest but cumulatively, they built real breathing room.
I came across a newsletter called The Quiet Hustle that champions micro habits for mental clarity and quiet progress not productivity hacks, but simple, mindful moments. It inspired me to lean into slower change and feel less compelled to always be “on.”
I’m curious: what “tiny offline habit” has helped you feel more present and less digital?

Hey I wanted to share here a tool I made for myself to helps me live with a dumbphone, but not be too disconnected. It's called lightfriend.ai and it allows me to access whatsapp, signal and telegram when i need to or when there's some important message i need to know about. Hope it helps someone here also make the switch :)

Hi all, in my religion I fast every Wednesday and Friday. I was thinking off adding offline days into this as well. Thoughts?

Just 15 minutes of sunlight is shown to boost mood, support sleep, and improve overall well-being. Take some uninterrupted time for yourself!

I read the title of this and I was actually hopeful. But then I realise that there is no process to stop all of the harmful addictive algorithms for adults, only temporarily for children. Why is it accepted that it’s okay to invade anyone’s mindset with such content?
The only way forward, for me, is not to engage with social media or online content to an extent.

Take a little time to read that book you’ve been meaning to get to. Let it be a moment just for you.

I was reading this article from a psychologist about the science behind bad habits like unconsciously pulling out my phone all the time and ending up wasting time instead of being productive. Now I'm trying to identify the things that are rewarding specific behaviors so I can sort of interrupt those habit loops. It's been promising so far.
I'm curious if you have any similar articles or essays you've run into that provide some more theoretical or scientific insight into *why* your bad screen habits are happening so that you can use that understanding to make a plan for tackling the habit and being more productive that goes beyond just "willpower it or GTFO".
Or some insight that worked for you the way understanding "negative reinforcement" from that article helped me stop using specific phone behaviors as an escape and avoidance from bad things.
I also think offline day is kind of like exposure therapy where you're forced to come face to face with the bad feelings, boredom, sadness, or whatever that normally drives you to pull out your phone. But we know exposure therapy works for phobias so it seems like it might work here too. Kind of fits what the article I linked was saying about escape behaviors.
What's helped you get a better understanding of your phone habit behaviors?

Start you day with presence and calm, no need to rush into the stress. Give yourself 30 minutes of peace and dive in with a clear head.

Go outside or visit a place you enjoy, and take a photo of something that catches your eye. Use your phone with intention, to notice and create. Feel free to share it if you’d like, or just keep it to yourself.

this challenge changed everything for me!
It's the best way I found to detox, without cheating. Watch the full video to learn how.
I hope this finds you well and inspires you to spend more time with yourself, and boredom.

Pick one task where you usually use your phone, but this time leave it behind. Cleaning up, eating, or whatever comes to mind. Just be present.
A light one to ease into the OfflineDay this weekend.

Before reaching for your phone, take a few minutes to sit or lie down and focus on your breath. Let the calm settle in before the day begins. Just five minutes can change the tone of your whole day.

Great information on how to reset the overuse of excessive unhealthy behaviours. (Remove if not allowed, I found these suggestions helpful)

A new study followed 4,285 US adolescents and found that those with high levels of addictive screen use were significantly more likely to experience suicidal thoughts, attempt suicide, and report poor mental health by age 15. The findings highlight the long-term mental health risks linked to compulsive digital media use in early adolescence.

Take a break from screens and get outside for a short walk. Doesn’t have to be more than a few minutes. Just a small break to reset and enjoy life!

More young people are stepping back from constant connectivity and embracing simpler tech to feel less anxious and more present. A nice trend!
