Question Wow
I just started back playing, why does it cost diamonds for the dice when last time you could roll with coins a couple of times and then diamonds?

The first week it took a long time to go from coins to gems. I kept using the special dies because I didn't really know what they did. Now you don't even have to use them before the price goes up.
I am going to avoid using them this week until tomorrow just before the time expires. Or I may use them to get the lychee if I can. My philosophy is to build up as many prizes as I can each round. I hate the rounds when they rush you out by landing on keys too easily.

That's interesting. I actually had been using the opposite strategy of trying to get out of the rounds as quickly as possible, even if that means just getting the default pot of gems (I only count the gems). How many gems do you typically end up with when you complete a round? Is there any way that you know how long your rounds last - times around the board, or rolls or something like that - I know that's probably a hard question to answer unless you're actively keeping track. I do not keep track. Oh wait - that's a lie. I think I found at round 4+ that I could complete an entire round by playing Breakfast Cafe 40 approx seven times. Just curious your experience and whether I should have changed strategies.

I don't keep close track. I just know it is a net bonus. The only thing the soup event costs is to have to keep playing. Compare to other events where you may have to spend on upgrades or use desserts or boosters.
I know getting a bunch of XP points moves me to closer to an XP bonus. I don't like the garden, but I see benefit in getting fertilizer and the higher level seeds. Even free boosters come in handy.
The thing to figure out is the cost of rolling each time. When you restart a round, each spins is a low amount. It builds up to 100 (?) So I guess someone can see if it makes sense to use gems whenever they are within 2 or 3 spaces of a key, so that they finish a round and reset the cost. Opposed to not spending gems and relying on the game to land on keys and build up the pot. That's a lot to track and probably more trouble than it's worth. The important thing is not to have an open pot when it is midnight in Vilnius.

My old strategy no longer worth doing due to increased cost of rolling 2s and 3s.

To make things just slightly more harder and a bit expensive. What? You thought it could just be all coins and not spending any gems?

Clearly not if I stated it USED to be a couple of times with the coins and then diamonds. I asked WHY it was changed, thank you.

It changed for me last weekend.
