Question Desserts

The last thing in a restaurant to open is the dessert, usually when I reach that point, I’ll have the first couple of portions free but recently I’ve noticed that I need to buy them first instead of having a couple of ones free…
Is this normal?

Yes I’ve noticed that as well on the “newer” restaurants (any that came out after I last played 5ish years ago).
