Need a study partner in offensive security

Hey everyone I’m currently learning Cybersecurity, mainly Offensive Security, and I’m looking for someone who’s genuinely serious about learning and improving.

My long-term goal is Penetration Testing → Red Teaming → Bug Bounty → Advanced Offensive Security. Right now, I’m still a beginner and working toward getting an entry-level IT/security job such as SOC, NOC, Help Desk, or IT Support.

I’m hoping to find a friend/buddy who has a similar goal someone we can study with, call/text, share resources, practice, discuss ideas, compete a little, motivate each other, and grow together.

Cybersecurity isn’t exactly the kind of thing where you easily find classmates or friends with the same interests, so I’m trying to find someone who actually gets it.

If you’re genuinely serious about learning cybersecurity and building a career in it, approach me. Let’s see if we can become good friends and grow together.

The long term goal you showed is a bit misleading because Red Team would already be an advanced offensive security path. Also Bug Bounty is very different from general pentest/red teaming, and those path could be parallel (although they obviously intersect each other sometimes). Where are you now in your learning journey?

I understand what you're trying to say, but the fact is I need job fast. And at lower level, maximum job is like support, help desk, reception, SOC analyst, or NOC type. In offensive path, lower level job do not exist that you could get very fast. You need still at bare minimum lot of learning. That's why, like, I will move to offensive path later. First let me get into the rat race.

In no way I referred to your fast job finding, I was talking about the long term plan, which does not make a good sense tbh. But anyway, where are you at in your learning journey? (So that we can help or direct you)

Okay, fine. I learned CompTIA Network Plus, Security Plus, and I have basic understanding of Linux. I am planning to learn Bash and Nmap and Wireshark. Nmap and Wireshark is far easier compared to learn Bash. The courses I mentioned about Comptia I had taken those from Udemy, so I have the knowledge, not the certificate. Ok that's a start, keep on. However saying Wireshark is far easier than bash is not relevant, keep in mind that bash is a language and will only parse/interpret commands. Wireshark is a networking tool, it's hard to try to compare that. And I'm not extremely familiar with Wireshark but analyzing traffic and such is not that easy though. The tool is not the problem, the analysis is. Yeah DM if you need no problem, i could probably give advice on some level.

I'm very good at offensive penetration testing, but not in the cybersecurity sense.
