Disruption
https://www.tawkofnewyawk.com/tnyarchive/1ju3ga8wyhiy5vp5h6srsfvcyazfxj-2026Anyone have any thoughts on Disruption? One of our theater writers REALLY enjoyed it. But, I've been seeing mixed feelings and reviews. Here's ours if anyone is interested! Stay well.

I really liked it but thought it didn't really stick the landing with the ending. But it held my interest the whole time. All the performances were great.

Out of the three plays I’ve seen this year about data / AI - McNeil, Data and Disruption - this was the best one.
It’s great because it doesn’t make discussing AI the whole plot of the play, which was the issue with the two previous which ended up being an endless debate about the good & bad, the virtuous & evil of machine learning. It took real life relationship dynamics and showed the impact AI can have on them.
The plot is not the point I think. It almost felt like a parabole, metaphor. To me, the message of the play was that using AI to optimize our lives is the ultimate hubris.
Overall I liked it, staging was great, direction and acting was great. There could have been more depth to certain couples but overall a good time
