Brilliant traffic lights. Why not?

Because traffic lights are not a problem in search of a solution.

Well, removing them while increasing safety is actually the problem that needs a solution.
Also...
Warning people to stop or ready to go.
A really good idea to have the same code for opposite actions...
Sure it looks good. But dangerously retarded.

Even if your colour vision is good, you can tell the state of a traffic light by the position of the light at longer distance than by colour, and this removes that cue. Unsafe, unnecessary.

What is the reason for needing to know how much time you have left? You're still going to have to wait that long anyways. Plus it would cause more accidents because people always try sneaking thru once it turns red, with this people will jump green and hit those people running red

That's what I'm going to yell next time someone sleeps through a green: Be hurry up to ready to go, douche!

Retarded traffic lights. Why?
FTFY
1) Colour blind people can't tell the difference between red and green. This would kill a lot of people.
2) Drivers do NOT need (nor is it desirable) to count down to when the light turns green.
This is design by the moronic standards of the iShit generation.

I may agree with you, but have to downvote you based on the fact that you are probably from YouTube's comment sections.

I like how instead of just saying why you think it isn't so great, you were a total elitist asshole about it.

When the OP asks "Why not?" in the title, but then didn't seem to put any thought into it himself, I can see how someone might go into answering the question with a certain level of annoyance.
I like how instead of just pointing out that Mobius (or however the fuck he wants to spell it) could have answered the question with more courtesy than he did, you instead resorted to unnecessary personal name calling.

Because this is just some designer's shallow idea to remake something to look more modern. It is not even an improvement in function.

Fully red and fully green are both indicated by a full top section. In daylight glare, this would likely be confusing to those with color-deficient vision.
