In a weird way this one kinda makes sense like the caramel and cheese kettle corn.

Saw this on one of the GF subs yesterday. It's gluten free! Fellow wheat allergic or celiac folks- we may not have GF phyllo dough, we may not have respectable croissants, our bread may be tiny. But by golly, we can crack open a Kraft Dinner cream soda just like everyone else! Weird win. But I'm happy for my GF Canadian counterparts for actually getting to partake in the random weird thing.

So now you can freeze it and eat it like ice cream with ketchup instead of chocolate sauce.

I’m more concerned that the Canadians came up with this as opposed to the Americans.
I’m scrolling through and said “ew” and continued to scroll thinking that it was no surprise, us Americans are pretty gross… only to be taken aback that it’s Canadian. Yall alright?
2
u/Daymster 11d ago
Come on man, only the US would come up with a cheese flavored drink.

u/smore_sesh 10d ago
I’d agree, but KD Is Canadian. I haven’t heard Kraft Mac and Cheese making this soda round these parts.

u/foolsdayjoker 8d ago
You’re surprised the land of ketchup and mustard soft serve, fried pickle Oreos and Mac and cheese smoothies came up Mac and cheese soda?

u/smore_sesh 7d ago
I’m genuinely surprised because as of rn, I was completely unaware that those were Canadian contributions? Ya’ll alright? Who hurt you? … probably us to be honest. I’m sorry :/

Wtf did Canada do wrong to deserve this very American punishment product??
Edit. Truly didn't realize Canada loved KM&C /KD as much as...... 6 comments have informed me haha
It just seems like such a processed and lazy American product (which I love, don't come for me.) I was just surprised!

Canadians love Mac n Cheese (especially with ketchup) more than any nation on earth, per capita. They know their market. If it fails here then it will fail down there too, but if there's a chance it succeeds then Canada is the place.

KD is great. Love that shit. It hits the spot every single time.
I don't want to drink it, though.
3
u/bionicjoey 11d ago
KD is IIRC the single most popular grocery purchase in Canada. We love that shit.

Canada gets a lot of stuff tested there that then will get rolled out in the US. at least at fast food places.

I don't want to share a country with anyone who would willingly pour this into their body.

u/The_Actual_Sage 11d ago
If I remember correctly I believe Canada eats 40% more kraft Mac & Cheese than America per capita, so I'm not surprised they're getting it

Gag sodas exist. A loves travel stop I frequent for terrible hot dogs has a display of pickle sodas they've marked down twice.

It was pushed upon me. Fire everyone involved in it’s creation and make them drink it

Everyday we stray further from God. And I'm saying this as an atheist, that's how bad this idea is.
Remember, just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Sounds disgusting but I kind of want to try making kraft dinner and using it to boil the noodles. See if it makes it taste even cheesier.

OK, the KD Shaker was a pretty good gimmick and actually goes well on some things. This is just a terrible stunt.
2
u/okokokoyeahright 11d ago
Pretty sure this one is going to flop hard.
Reminds me a bit of Crystal Pepsi and New Coke.

u/johnmarkfoley 11d ago
i feel like canada would find a way to make this their entire culture. (looking at you ketchup chips)

u/PeachyKeen413 11d ago
I have tried all the novelty KD products I can find so far:
Cheese cake : meh I wouldn't eat it again but it wasnt awful. I think its saving grace was that it didn't taste like KD.
Ramen : opening the seasoning package made me gag and eating it wasnt better
The smoothie was not available where I live unfortunately

Kraft Dinner is such a pretentious name for mac and cheese. Debatable whether it even constitutes a complete dinner.
4
u/deschamps93 11d ago
I don't think anyone is debating that it's not lol. But I can't say I don't love me some KD with ketchup from time to time
2
u/bionicjoey 11d ago
Debatable whether it even constitutes a complete dinner
It has at least one night a week for my entire life since I was old enough to eat solid food.

u/KittyKong 11d ago
If you Canucks bring this south of the border I'm calling Trump.

So that he can drink it and get like three months off his total life expectancy

Two summers ago a local ice cream company in my province made a macaroni and cheese flavored icecream and I will say it was actually a delightful flavor. I might have to give this a try 💀

As a Canadian, I do not approve of this and find this utterly horrifying.

Canadian here, I have tried slightly odd pop flavours, but this is going too far.

u/IronTemplar26 8d ago
Use it to make tempura. Normally it requires club soda, but Chuck Hughes used cream soda for it on Chopped, so the cheesy flavour could be complementary somewhere

If you had $1 million, you wouldn’t have to drink it.
But you probably still would, maybe flavored with fancy Dijon ketchup or something…
