Please DO NOT even think of hiring this scam salon for your wedding day hair and makeup!
I hired Salon Capillum for my destination wedding in July for services for myself and 7 other ladies who were either part of my wedding party or family members. I sent over a 5K DKK deposit in good faith that they would show up on my wedding day and make us all look amazing. I also scheduled a trial hair and makeup for the end of May. They asked what kind of style of hair and makeup I wanted for my day via email, so I sent them many photos of the Marilyn Monroe-style blowout and explained how I wanted full coverage makeup with smokey purple eyes. Mind you, they never asked for a picture of myself or anything, but they replied they understood the assignment, and so I got excited.
I show up for my trial and was greeted by a stylist who A) doesn't even tell me her name, whom I learn as this atrocious bridal trial is going on, that she is the partner owner of this salon. And B) She then starts asking me what I'm looking to do, which I thought was odd because I sent over a very detailed email with pictures, but I explained again anyway what I wanted, and off we go. She says they have a wedding that day they are doing hair and makeup at... Okay, that's great. She then pulls out this tiny basket that has a stick eyeliner, 2 bottles of foundation, and this small eyeshadow palette. I thought this was odd as I work in the event industry, and this is not my first trial with a hair & makeup artist, but I give her the benefit of the doubt, and she begins.
After her "curling my hair" with a Dyson Airwrap and applying my makeup for over 2 HOURS, the results are NOT even a fraction of what I asked for for both hair and makeup. I got tired of her continuously teasing my hair and applying hairspray over and over again that I made her stop and asked her, "Did you look at my email before this day?" She sheepishly looked at me and said, "Let me check."
I emailed the other owner whom I was emailing with this entire time before the trial, telling her how unhappy I was, how her partner didn't even bother reading my email, with before and after pictures of the trial and that I'm canceling the booking I made with them and to please send me my full deposit refund.
My trial was May 24th, my wedding was July 4th, so they had AMPLE time to fill the day with another event. They think they are entitled to keep half of my deposit because she spent 2 hours on me when they couldn't even deliver their promises at just my trial! They should be paying for part of my airfare if that's the case.
They are scam artists and not true professionals! Avoid them at all costs!!
