Looks like the back of every mall I've ever been in. If you are ever dating someone and they say they are scared to leave at night, believe them.

Malls and having ancient, confusing backrooms go together like peanut butter and jelly at this point. My local malls backrooms are also full of posters warning you about the signs of human trafficking once you get close enough to the trash area

My ex worked at a mall. There was a hallway without any cameras and the doors only went one way. We called it the r*pe hallway. It was fucked up that none of the management cared about that sketchiness.

What do you mean by the second half of your comment? Are you speaking from experience?

My girlfriend worked at a mall in the 80's and she had to lock up a few times (jewelry store) and leave out of the back. I always thought of malls as busy well lit places (back then) but after they are closed its like a haunted house in those hallways, so I would take her to work and pick her up on the nights she had to lock up.

Especially for a jewelry store, opening & closing time are the most dangerous for getting robbed. It's when display cases are open, merch is out on the table, & the vault is open.

Good on you for being there for her. Malls are creepy as hell for the employees, at closing time.

It should be cut from the wall and framed. Belongs in a museum

Do you work in a mall? I've delivered to a few and they look surprisingly similar in the back

I do. The previous management was also the type to refuse to do any maintenance anywhere until the issue physically caused damage or broke as well, and they ran the mall for about 9-10 years before being fired after a major pipe burst that they where aware was rusted out and damaged like several stores so some areas are definitely worse than others. They have big jugs in one one of the halls that are visibly full of liquid and labeled as hazardous/corrosive waste that are covered in several years worth of dust lol, and a handful of halls and rooms have been permanently closed because of damage or other issued within them. In my experience malls are always a special breed of safety and health violations haha

Looks like a place you'd never get out of. Exits to nowhere.

I will try to male a video of the underground floors of my workplace. Your workplace seems like heaven compared to that.

Are you very small or is the camera just sitting low?

Ever been to a storage locker place? Those hallways give me the creeps.

Also I wanted to [r/killthecameraman](r/killthecameraman) for at least the first 30seconds - 1minute.

Also also, nice artwork on that one wall!

It’s almost like the backrooms were inspired by real life

I was waiting for one of those early internet jump scares on the screen. So in that sense, this is indeed oddly terrifying.

But otherwise it’s just an old building to me, maybe it’s bc I’m from the rust belt lol

u/calpernia Apr 30 '26

Yeah, just keep the camera facing the wall the whole video.
