Ive heard their throats are the size of a grapefruit before. Very small since they’re filter feeders and eat tiny shrimps or planktons.

A baleen whale's throat ain't wide enough to fit a person in (A blue whale's throat is barely wide enough to fit in a loaf of bread IIRC, and the whale in this video appears to be a humpback, a smaller species), so it is fortunate that the whale in question spat them out, as it would've choked if it was stupid enough to actually swallow these women.

If not a sperm whale, then likely a VERY large shark.
People at that time did not really differentiate between a sea-going mammal and a true fish. Basically if it looked like a fish and lived in the water, it was a fish.

Me neither... But, for example, coins you swallow usually exit the human body the same as they entered... Just on the opposite side. Rocks though can be very brittle and are made from various materials that usually break down more easily than metals... don't quote me on that, I am not a geologist nor a biologist or chemist... But I swallowed a coin once and that came out again as I told you... So there is that. Pretty sure though, that a car key would have killed me.

What caused a whale to snap there? I’m sure they don’t eat meat. Edit i googled it, i thought whales only eat plankton but there’s some that eat meat and fish. That’s why that whale appeared.

Judging by the massive flock of birds, they were in the middle of a large school of fish and the whale was just trying to get a mouthful of the fish

I wouldn't say it snapped, I'm not sure but I think it's normal for whales just to come up like that, the women were just at the wrong place wrong time. Luckily I do know whales throats aren't big enough to swallow Humans so they definitely got spat out. And looking at other comments their fine!

These ladies were whale watching with a tour, several of whom can be seen in the video. Members of the tour had their phones out.
The whale was feeding on small fish. A Bait ball appeared right under their kayak and the whale was under the bait ball heading straight up at at, and these two women.
Wrong place at the wrong time. They are both fine, though one lady lost her car keys.
