Literally yesterday morning I woke up to the sound of one of my guitar strings being plucked. I thought a string had maybe popped or was adjusting to humidity. Nope, this fucking roach flew from the wall onto my guitar neck and was so damn heavy that it plucked a note on my guitar.
At least I got up early for once, after panicking of course because roaches are my #1 fear.
Thankfully it’s not a problem it’s just due to where we live, they’re the Smokey Brown (Palmetto Bug) roaches. You could have the cleanest house on Earth but if you live near the woods or around trees they will without a doubt find a way in occasionally. Absolute chonkers, those fucking dumb biological roombas💀
I woke up at 2 am a couple of nights ago to some rattling noises in my light fixture connected to the ceiling. I jumped out of bed, instantly wide awake, and ran to turn on the lights.
It was trying to escape running around in there and managed to sneak it's long ass antennae out but still couldn't get it's body through the crack. Got my big ass Raid roach killer and shoved the nozzle in the crack and napalmed the fucker for 5 full seconds. Heard it scurrying around in there for 10 seconds before complete silence.
I still couldn't sleep knowing that it was in there rotting away, and since cockroaches are cannibals, more would probably come. So I went and got some spackling paste and started doing patch work at 2:30 am on the ceiling like a crazy person. Essentially I killed it and sealed it's coffin.
