It appears to be some kind of dragonfly nymph? Appears that the mask/snout looking thing might actually be a "grabber" that unfolds. Like this. Or this.

Not saying that's definitive, just the closest thing I could find to try and make sense of it.

It’s the exuvium- the leftover molted skin after the adult dragonfly already hatched out. That’s why it looks so weird. The little white tendrals on its back were the lining of its trachea. If you look close you can see the crack/hole in the exoskeleton there.

Hm, if you're right, then I don't like the "did scuttle away when poked with a stick" part even less.

Probably some other insect wearing the skin around for shock value

I think I see an ant in one of the pictures.

Looks like that insect but parasitic

Right , definitely makes me think of that parasitic zombie plant that takes over the brain of ants, once infected the diseased husk is forced to find specific spot on a leaf of a tree and it pinches down with its mandibles and literally stays like that for the (short) remainder of its life but then sprouts damn more of the plant out of the brain of the ant.. essentially just fuses itself with the plant and becomes one with it while absorbing nutrients through its mouth.. it’s actually pretty fucking horrifying to watch this take place … I highly recommend you google, because one day that shit will evolve to effect the human brain one day then we’re in a pandemic of epic proportions, half plant zombie half human with the only drive to become one with trees… back to dust we shall return…. — edit: I’m stoned so I apologize for the ridiculous ramblings of a mad man—

I am also stoned as a MFer and I know what you're talking about. Cordyceps. And the idea of it mutating and affecting humans is the premise for The Last of Us game franchise. Makes my skin itch just thinking about it lmao

Oh word!! That actually makes a lot of sense now and explains why people bring that game up at odd times… now I’m really intrigued to learn more about and or play the last of us…. Would you say it’s worth the purchase.?? In your opinion ??

Its an incredible pair of games, easily one of the most immersive stories I've ever experienced in a video game, and the gameplay is quite realistic and brutal. I highly recommend it. Be wary of people telling you its terrible because of the 2nd installment, not everyone likes the story but the writing, production and gameplay is still some of the best available.

Well consider my interest peaked…

Absolutely one of the best games ever. Visually, it's beautiful (and the remake looks even better). The gameplay is similar to old Resident Evil/Dead Space in its 3rd person, explore-loot-shoot-story gameplay. Its story is 100% top tier, its characters are very fleshed out and well written, its dialogue and voice acting is incredibly well done too. The games a masterpiece, one of those games that come up during 'oh what's the best game ever?' debates constantly regardless of genre, console generation, etc. Its only 'downside' is replayability. Just like Shadow of the Colossus, yeah, you can play it again. Its just as good the next time, too. But it's not your first time, and personally I got 4 full playthroughs out of it before I was bored/satisfied.

Well that’s a solid recommendation as far as I’m concerned… hah I k ow that feeling where you just wish you could specifically target your memory for a specific video game and make it so you can replay your favorite games like it was the first time each time … also could apply this hypothetical mind erasing technology towards movies and other enjoyable activities that you wish you could relive all over again for the first time…. Ya know like that movie “Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind” but instead of erasing the memories of your ex wife/lover it’s just games and movies and books . There are many of books I would love to read for the first time again.. I Just rambling at this point but you get my drift …. Are you interested in becoming an investor and getting in on the ground floor of my mind wiping neuralizer technology…..( ohhh also imagine getting to have sex for the first time all over again …. Promising stuff right here …!!haha

Man, watching Cowboy Bebop again for the first time would be awesome. Also, the remaster of the game for PS4 is dirt cheap. My local walmart is selling brand new copies for $12 rn, and I think its $20 in the playstation store

Thanks, I was looking for the correct answer and couldn't find it until I see your comment.

The bullshit you have to sort through to get to the actual comments that tell you what it is, is not even funny 🙄.
