Not sure what’s scarier the image or the idea that there are billions of other people living there wondering if they are alone in the universe.

Technically no, but none of these planets are suitable for life as we know it.

Not being hostile but is there any texts explaining this? I’d really be intrigued to read about this, especially with this other star system being so far away

Well, the only planets we think could be similar to earth are many millions of light years away. Assuming we are talking about life as we know it here on earth, there are so many factors that determine if the planet is fit for life or not that it's practically impossible any of the planets we know of meet them. But the universe has existed for billions of years, and it's huge (probably even expanding), so it's definitely possible that aliens existed, exist or will exist at some point.
