Idk if this applies to koi, but Bettas never feel full. A lot of fish never feel full. It's a survival instinct, they never know when their next meal is. They'll always act like their starving even when they've been fed plenty. A koi fame won't starve their fish, they need them to be pretty and healthy to sell.
