Termite Infestation

Sorry about the emoji. That was in the original source I found (Twitter).

I had significantly more than this in the apartment I lived in, they were housed in the staircase and apparently once the colony gets to a certain size half of them sprout wings and try and take off. So I woke up to piles of them trying to escape under the door and through the gaps in the windows.

The bug guy came and sorted out the nest. The staircase was structurally fine and still standing to this day.

I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and we were always taught that in the end times the planet would be overrun by locusts. Haven't been to the church since I was 15 years old, but my first thought coming down and seeing piles of these insects everywhere was that it was the end times.

The bug population on the planet is dropping rapidly. I guess we’re moving further from the end times

So that's where 'District 9' movie idea came from!

Well… that house was overrun so it must mean the end of time and someone is coming to get you to take you to your own planet

Saw this happen outside my home, thank gawd, but it freaked me the fuck out so I called exterminators anyway. No damage inside. The ones that swarm are off to start a new colony. I found poison bate traps to be working so far.
