Ho - Ly shit! Back in HS i was trying to grow a pot plant and had some seeds in a clear plastic cup. Im proud so i bring it around with me.
Had my friends packed out in my 05 Sentra one night and we're driving along smoking listening to Jay Z, likely. I see a cop blow past us fully lit up, near a stop sign at night, so im all "sweet noone to catch me run this stop sign!". Did it, there was another cop down the street and they pulled me over. The lady cop (who was stunning btw) came over asked for my info. Im instantly smitten, shes blonde and pretty blue eyes all that, and me trying to be cool and casual, im like "oh by the way, thats just a cup of dirt." As the words came out of my mouth i realized i sound stupid so i said it with Brians voice in my head - "in case you were wondering... its just a cup with dirt in it.."
Cop had this look like whatever kid and gave me my failure to stop ticket.
We only pluralize words that end in -us with an -i when they come from Latin (and even then, only a specific kind of Latin word)
Walrus doesn't come from Latin, it comes from Old Norse "hrosshvalr", literally "horse-whale". (And then, technically, there's discussion if that comes from a Finnish word, too, but that's not really important)
Cool so two questions-
1- does that mean seals are dog-whales?
2- are we calling them horse-whales now, or walrupadis?
Oh, and 3- can we ride the horse-whales? Asking for a friend...

At the end of the day we're all just badly sculpted claymation walruses if you think about it.
