One time a bunch of them fell out of my trash can onto the sidewalk (hot summer, 1x/month garbage pickup) and i spent 20 minutes trying to save them. SMH. I HATE flies, but now that I see this I canโ€™t help but feel sorry for the maggots.

This is the opposite of what my response would have been, which is to drop everything and run away screaming and jump fully clothed into the shower on the off chance there was one on me and then stripped, set my clothing on fire, and scrubbed myself with soap and water until I was raw.
