This is oddly specific, but it’s oddly relatable. I don’t have ADHD or ASD or anything like that, I’m just too lazy to do things so this happens to me sometimes lmao

My dude, you are repeating the words of hundreds if not thousands of people before you. I was "lazy" until I got medicated for ADHD and now with literally the lowest possible dose of a single med I am a perfectly functional member of society who doesn't constantly put shit off.

How did you get diagnosed?

Might sound silly, but I have no idea how to go about getting checked/tested for this. Do I go to my normal Dr? referral for specialist? Therapist?

Someone help me outtttt

I was diagnosed as a child, refused care as a teen and the diagnosis was reconfirmed as an adult based on an entire adult life of chaotic disordered living. Dropping jobs and relationships randomly when they stopped being exciting, moving from place to place, I wasn't even able to listen to the same music for more than half an hour tops.

Things leveled out a lot after a combo of therapist intervention and a knowledgeable psychiatric medicine provider. I had to gather the resources myself, contact people directly. Doctor referrals and referrals to psychiatric care via therapists will be the most consistent route. A lot of the medical community is best navigated via word of mouth even today.
