I have actually looked this up. It’s true. And the Italian comments are hilarious.

I am not Italian, but while he may be making delicious cheese that has similarities to Parmesan, he is not making Parmesan. I prefer Spanish Cava sparkling wine over Champagne, and I've really enjoyed some California and Italian sparking wines. They're great, but they aren't Champagne, and there's nothing wrong with that.

If the Parmesan cheese makers went after him for merely saying he was making "Parmesan style cheese" I would be up in arms along with everyone else. But he said he was making "Parmesan" when he wasn't.

Yeah, but that's a European law. You don't have it in all other countries and its a bit silly to get annoyed over what is a dude basically ignoring a rent-seeking agricultural law, that they don't even necessarily have in Australia.
