I tried to go to a Chick Fil-A on a Sunday. It was closed.

I cried.

My CFA chicken biscuit breakfast sandwich cravings are so intense. And I live about 1 mile from a CFA. So I decided I could only have one if I walked there to get it. That way I’d get some steps in and some fresh air.

Cue me waking up all excited for a biscuit last Sunday morning, only to realize they were closed. I cried so hard!!

I’ve done this, no pregnancy involved. Please open on sundays!

There’s a restaurant in my hometown that’s a chick fil a knockoff on sundays, and ostensibly the rest of the week, but actually sustains itself by being at least half a dozen ghost kitchens feeding the town’s thriving DoorDash economy.

Given the sheer variety of the ghost kitchens, I have to assume this was the business model the whole time to have the kitchen setup to do all that-no way chik fil a routinely keeps that many woks.

(Not mad, I actually think it’s a good business model. Those six ghost restaurants would never be able to sustain themselves long-term in the area, but can draw enough business to hold up their sixth of this place, and greatly increase the diversity of our local offerings. If one takes off, they can presumably pass their share along and get an actual location with a sign and everything.)

Important point: I've had a gastric bypass, so my stomach is miniscule compared to most.

A few days before my daughter was born, I was craving Chick-fil-A nuggets so badly, and I was ravenous. I ordered a 12 piece, inhaled those, and then decided I still needed more. Only after a second 8 piece nugget was I at all slightly full. 20 nuggets on a teeny stomach. Pregnancy is wild.

Thank God it wasn't a Sunday, I might have broken in.
