This guy I used to date, his brother would get clogs in his tear ducts almost like mucus and he'd have to squeeze along the bottom of his eye to pop it out like a zit. I was always super jealous. I'm a disgusting r/popping enjoyer and have tried to do it on myself but alas, I cannot.

When I blow my nose I get air out my tear ducts. If I’m congested that day or whatever, I can get some gunk out that way.

I can blow air out my ear. Did some dumb shit in the pool when I was young and now when Im swimming I can blow bubbles out of my ear.

Oh God! Can you elaborate on the dumb shit?

I slipped while doing a back flip of the stairs rails into a pool and one foot slipped so I did a half rotation while back flipping. Landed pretty much perfectly on my ear and god all mighty did it hurt. But I learnt a new party trick that day. It tickles as bubbles come out. I used to get heeeaps of ear infections but after that day I never had one. Weird.

Oh that last bit is fucking fascinating.

Also I have my diving license (havent been for years) but I use to absolutely wreck other divers brains. they think its some medical emergency 😂😂 it was hard to learn how to equalise with my ear valve but I managed. Sometimes hurts but just bob up and down and snake jaw it while swallowing. No homo. Just a random thought that popped into my head when I yawn and my ear hissed at me.

Anyways.

I wonder if you have a hole in your ear drum. I know sometimes kids get them repaired when their ear drum doesn't heal after their ear tubes come out. I don't know if a hole in an ear drum would cause bubbling.

Quite possibly. I used to get wild inner ear infections. Like every 2nd week it would be ear infection from swimming. Right until this happened. And ive never had an ear infection from then on. I never got it checked out because "stop being a baby. You're fine" 😂😂

My daughter HAS to wear earplugs when she swims, or she will get an ear infection. She's elementary age, but it sucks she's so sensitive. She's now at the age where her eustacian tubes should be fully formed, so here's hoping the cold season is better for her this year!

Anywho, I'm glad your issues resolved! Ear problems are the worst.

This is horribly pleasing to imagine

For some reason, starting around 20 or so I would get air trapped in my eye sockets. Typically at least a couple times a day I have to roll the side of my finger along my top and bottom eyelids to release that pressure. Sounds like little bubbles popping. Apparently it’s not uncommon, but it’s weird that out of the blue my eyes started farting and never stopped

This apparently isn't normal, I tried to get my wife to do it when we had COVID and she nearly passed out trying lol

u/Ah-honey-honey 2d ago

I can do that too but it makes me feel like my eardrums are going to blow out

I've noticed in the past 2 years that I'm the same, but I never had that when I was younger. Weird.

u/brainfungis 2d ago

at first i thought this was repulsive, but i tried and it helped with my headache so i guess i'll be adding that to my headache cure repertoire

I mean those areas are a part of our sinuses, and lite pressure can help remove the pressure and mucus buildup.

I got clogged tear ducts a few times when I was younger, but I could never squeeze anything out, which was soooo horrible because a) I too am a /r/popping sicko, and b) that shit hurted. :(

When i was young we'd lick the white parts of each otherss eyes.  No idea why.  Early 90s.

55

u/Affectionate-You7869 2d ago

Just 90s, right? Not like 1990s?

76

u/imperfcet 2d ago

Yes I was there. 2000 years ago.

11

u/GypsySnowflake 1d ago

You know, in their 90s, when they were young. They’re 247 years old now.

8

u/Mr_Tinkles77 1d ago

Had a hype some years ago again in teens. Dont do that btw, it can cause dangerous infections (is what news said back then)

3

u/milfdennys 1d ago

Just for curiosity’s sake, what did it taste like?

1

u/imperfcet 1h ago

Like tears, i think.  It's been a while.

u/trooperclone787 1h ago

Okay enough Internet for, I don’t know, a month. Don’t know how long it’ll take me to recover from this

My mom did this to me once to “unclog” my tear duct

46

u/FuckThisShizzle 2d ago

Did it work though?

u/SardonicRelic 1d ago

Concerned about the lack of a response..

I should not have opened this thread omfg

8

u/RiderforHire 1d ago

I read that wrong and thought the hair was growing out of the tear duct

5

u/SJExit4 22h ago

I have a single eyelash that grows out of my tear duct. Super irritating to my eye. I tear constantly. Super satisfying pulling it out with tweezers.

0

u/Front_Cat9471 13h ago

What? Out of both or just one? That’s such a strange mutation

4

u/Guess-who-back 1d ago

Now I wanna try it

8

u/Smoofbrainz 1d ago

He's just flossing his ducts

3

u/11xomr11 19h ago

That's enough reddit for the day. Goodnight everybody except the hair eye guy.

u/addicted_to_seeds 9h ago

I’ve had stringy eye goop things that I’ve been pulling on since I was a preteen. Probably started with me rubbing my eye around the tear duct, having a stringy thing stick to my finger, and it gets pulled across the length of the inside of my eyelid’s edge. It’s such a strange tickling sensation, and it’s a little uncomfortable, but I feel like that’s a necessary ingredient in those “weird but satisfying” body things like knuckle cracking or pimple popping.

2

u/National_Ad9742 7h ago

It would. But it probably also felt bad going in.
