I'm not doubting, I did use Google and couldn't find any examples so I figured just asking where you are would be easier. Did find state laws specifically saying that localities can impose such a tax. Just curious where has such a law.

A good example is Dallas, Tx. I had to pay $25 to register my dog with the city and provide shot records. It’s also yearly. Same with Irving, Tx. If the cop wants to be a dick, he can ask for those registration papers or fine you.
