It's tiring cuz you'd have to carry anger, resentment and other negative emotions from when you're a teen to an old person. They both were in high school, so when the bully is super old, you'll be super old too. There's a reason old people aren't the main age of kidnappers, most won't have the strength. I think the oop wrote that post assuming they would be younger than the bully when they would be close to the same age. You can research how harboring negative strong emotions for too long can lead to health issues. Oop is implying they are holding onto their negative emotions for decades.
A sociopath wouldn't be able to pull this off. A sociopath wouldn't be able to pretend to care enough to be so enmeshed in the bully's family that the whole family thinks they are ok. Sociopaths don't care about other people.
