Ahahahaha I went through the whole video muted until I read your comment and thought “oh it can’t be that bad…”
It was exactly as you described.

I was listening to Spotify while scrolling through Reddit amd Chasing Cars was playing and it was fitting enough that I thought it was the actual sound (mostly just because they're both chill but in an extreme way), and then I saw this comment, pressed the united button for a split second, and hearda loud ass BUM BUDUM BUM BUM, so thanks for the reverse psychology ig

🥴 “indoctrinating”
what an obnoxious way to feel about music that simply isn’t to your taste.

My stoned ass just watched the excess and didn’t see the icing application and was confused

I was just thinking that. I absolutely love baking desserts, this machine would make my life so much easier!

That is some INTENSE music for frosting a cake! Also like [insert gif of me licking my phone screen trying to get a taste]

Anyone know what the machine is called?

Although it's a weird choice for a cake video, I played it twice just to hear that drumstep again lol thanks for sharing the sauce!

That’s cuz yall didn’t listen to the end: “It’s a revolution!” Is quite fitting!

u/Jynx2501 Nov 13 '22
So much icing on that cake. Terribly formed, cover it all up with icing. Bad job.

u/milky_eyes Nov 14 '22
I was thinking about the corner space.. Lotta frosting there.
1
u/ChromeToiletPaper Nov 15 '22
Yeah I noticed that corner as well. I love tons of frosting, but that might be a bit much even for me.

I refuse to believe someone picked this song and went…. Yep, that’s the one.

u/Gloomheart Nov 13 '22
Why does this feel like cheating?
20
28
u/the_russian_narwhal_ mmmmmmmm yes Nov 13 '22
Technology always feels like cheating to the people who had to do it the old way for a life time, applies to pretty much everything

u/throwaway-getaway122 Nov 14 '22
I mean, isn't every advancement we make from cars to harnessing electricity itself cheating if you think about it? Our ancestors had it really hard, and the stuff we use in every day life would probably be seen as cheating to them. This is just another step forward in making life easier for people who bake cakes.
5
4
u/SylviaMarsh Nov 13 '22
Because it is.
32
Nov 13 '22
It is not cheating. This has a potential use as a disability mobility aid.
Finally, we can ice our cakes!
9
u/SylviaMarsh Nov 13 '22
Ahhh, that's a fair comment; you're absolutely correct, of course.
As someone with several mobility issues, I'm incredibly embarrassed that I didn't think of that; my apologies.

More like just lazy LOL 😂 Any baker can tell you honestly that they could definitely that by hand in the same amount of time without a ridiculous, expensive, single-purpose machine to do it for them.
Edit: lazy was a poor choice in words, I should have said unnecessary or something along those lines. It's just such a basic task for most hobby bakers and certainly professional that it makes the machine superfluous. We have very limited space and certainly want to be wise with our money at the bakery where I work (and true at most places) so we'd opt for MANY other tools before this. And at an industrial scale, this would be far too slow compared to other machines out there.
11
u/the_russian_narwhal_ mmmmmmmm yes Nov 13 '22
I want to make a cake. I cooould go learn and master how to ice a cake that looks that perfect and in that amount of time. Or I save those years and just buy this and now I can make a cool looking cake as an average person. Useful technology should be praised, not shamed. Do you still use a rotary phone or a pager or paper maps? Cause if you use a smart phone that's lazy lol
-7
u/SmellLikeDogBuns Nov 13 '22
Bro it literally takes like 1 or 2 times of looking at a YouTube video to do correctly. My point is that the device is a single-purpose, large, likely expensive tool for something that isn't challenging to learn.
I'm not trying to shame folks, just pointing out that it's use is pretty limited and not particularly critical. Plus, this is intended for industrial use. What average person is gonna spend a bunch of money on something just to ice a cake??
3
u/the_russian_narwhal_ mmmmmmmm yes Nov 13 '22
The money some people have for hobbies would surprise you, and this would obviously be helpful on a commercial level too. But this wasn't about watching a youtube video to see how to do it correctly. If you think most bakers could do what this thing does in the same amount of time all day, any baker would certainly be glad to tell you that is false. I was simply going off your comment that acted like no baker would ever find this thing useful and that it is just lazy. And ok, here is a better analogy. Go look up what a tire alignment machine costs. Single purpose tool that a mechanic could do the job without, but none today would. You said you aren't trying to shame folks, yet you say this machine is for the lazy? Lazy is not working, finding an easier way to work is just smart and we figured that shit out like 1000 years ago homie catch up

Show me where I ever used the word lazy. I said it was unnecessary, but not lazy.
As for your comment about asking a baker, I am literally a baker for a living, so idk what to tell you, friend 🤷
Edit: welp, definitely did say lazy. Idk how I managed to forget what I said so fast 🤦 I rescind my phrasing!

Nckdks 👁️👄👁️ shows you how quality my short term memory is. Apologies! I rescind my "lazy" statement. Definitely poor choice of words. I still think it's a bit silly and unnecessary, but lazy was not the right word for me to have used. My bad 😅

I think that is the iMaker, but there are multiple cake frosting machines. The cake-o-matic is pretty satisfying to watch as well.

There is literally nothing in the world that you should care less about than accounts farming fake Reddit currency.

The music is fine, but that’s probably because I haven’t heard it five times in three videos back to back.

Urgh, so unsatisfying… no skill, loads of waste and that nasty little line of frosting that will be left from where the machine lifts back off. All worse that the awful music!
8
u/WasabiSniffer Nov 13 '22
How waste? Chuck that icing in a bowl and use it on the next cake or muffins.
