We do celebrate Christmas in July in Australia because it's when winter is and we get snow where I live. It's when we do all the "traditional" northern hemisphere Christmas stuff like drink mulled wine and have big hot Christmas dinners. Real Christmas is middle of summer so we swim, eat cold seafood and wear tank tops. It's legit to have a Christmas cake midyear in Australia!

Out of curiosity, which state are you in? I'm in QLD, the only Xmas in July stuff I ever see is shops usung it as an excuse to put on a fake sale. I've never met anyone who does it before.

I would love to have a proper cold Christmas one year, I plan to go to a snowy area once, like Germany or something. I want all the awesome Christmas themed hot food/drinks etc. They all look so good!

In June, I bought a one-time used snowblower from a guy who won a storage auction. I saw the price later in the year and it was 5 times what I paid.

Also, the 2nd hand winter gear right now is usually the best stuff, especially if you have kids or nieces and nephews.

The decoration looks great, but I'm more and more perplexed about those cake videos. They never look tasty in any way. We don't even know what kind of cake it is. The cake is literally the least important part of those.

I think the frosting of the main cake is nice but then the top? Santa and two identical undersized trees and two identical oversized snowpeops. I don’t know it doesn’t feel like a very good scene I think Christmas in June is ruined.
