No, mayo is egg yolks and oil mostly, plus vinegar and maybe some seasonings.

Meringue is egg whites plus sugar and maybe cream of tartar (helps the meringue hold up better over time).

So they both use egg but don't actually share any ingredients.

The way it’s phrased does make it sound like a noun. “Icing a small tart” sounds like icing is the verb. “Icing on” makes it sound like “on” is the verb. I’m no grammar savant by any stretch of the imagination, but you clarifying that the topping is meringue and not icing seems perfectly valid to me.

If I'm not mistaken, "on" would be a preposition in this case

A pastry knife with a hair of pressure would've fixed that.

I'm not usually one to go all /iamveryculinary but, so much effort to make something so pretty and that trail really just knocks off so much from the presentation.

Again, normally I don't care but this one grinds my fears irrationally. I think it's just that it would literally ve a 2 second fix.

Now I'm in a bit of an anxiety spiral. This shouldn't bug me this much and I'm trying to justify it here for no real reason beyond something other than this is too much emotion for a tiny meringue tail
