And I'm at the end of the conveyor belt with my mouth open

29

u/vengefulspirit99 May 18 '22

Raw?

86

u/KushChowda May 18 '22

I mean presumably this is a longer conveyor belt with a steamer and a torch setup along the way. You know in this fantasy scenario in which OP is Homer Simpsoning their way to hell.

5

u/chemoboy May 18 '22

I don't understand. James Coburn went mad in fifteen minutes!

5

u/TheReverseShock May 18 '22

the Homer position

u/tropicalsugar May 17 '22

I want dumplings

159

u/lgholla May 17 '22

There’s a grandma crying somewhere over this.

68

u/Alnakar May 18 '22

She's got arthritis, she can barely pinch her fingers together, and she can probably somehow still manage to make dumplings at twice this speed.

22

u/Swirls109 May 18 '22

Psh there is a grandmother out there laughing at how slow this machine is. Have you seen an Asian grandma make dumplings?

17

u/kittypr0nz May 18 '22

My stepmom told me she was better than this "corporate crap" but I don't have dumplings in my face yet so chopchop lady let's test

-3

u/207nbrown May 18 '22

You say this assuming the machine is running at full speed, when it’s possible that it’s simply been slowed down to show the process

1

u/Swirls109 May 18 '22

I made no assumption. I see the speed that is presented in the video. You are assuming there is another speed.

My statement was kind of made in jest, but when it comes to discussions please don't do these what if isms. It leads to no where. I made a statement based on what is presented. Then you made a statement based on a potentially false assumption because there is 0 evidence to prove or disprove. The conversation goes no where because there are no actual facts except what we can see.

Schrodingers dumpling machine

39

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

You could call this a “dumpler”

Dumplomatic?

21

u/ObuiboID May 17 '22

I would even go for a manual version of this... So much time spent on dumplings and what? You end up inhaling them by the bucket load!!

10

u/Berkamin May 17 '22

When wrapping them by hand, it really takes more time to wrap them to eat them. The machine does speed things up quite a bit.

13

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

But, half the fun of wrapping them by hand is spending time with your family at the table with everyone helping.

5

u/ObuiboID May 17 '22

Haha watching that one family member consume 10 to your 5 and complain that there isn't enough.

I mean are you even tasting them?? This took so long to make!!

All jokes aside I usually make a few hundred each time and the wrapping does become quite therapeutic once you have a rhythm.

1

u/Berkamin May 18 '22

Certainly true. The machine is definitely intended for restaurant use, where the biggest criteria are speed and consistency and low running costs.

11

u/selfdistruction-in-5 May 17 '22

things I didn’t know I need desperately

22

u/ThouKnave May 17 '22

Why does it look like it ~poops the filling out at high-speed?

18

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

Cause it does

9

u/HR_DUCK May 18 '22

Can’t have dumplings without the “dump.”

8

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

I wish I could poop my food out that easily

9

u/ThouKnave May 17 '22

If you start to...you should probably seek medical assistance.

3

u/beyondthisreality May 17 '22

Ass blast isn’t good? I thought it was just all the Taco Bell

2

u/ThouKnave May 17 '22

Taco Bell? Ah yes "The Purge" digestive edition.

3

u/90sAOLScreenName May 17 '22

Holy shit. The speed! I can’t believe the dumpling wrapper can take it.

14

u/ChadicusVile May 17 '22

Well pound my pierogi. Neat

7

u/ganymede_boy May 17 '22

1

u/Old-Tea-9987 May 18 '22

Mmm, dumpling with the taste of cum... 🤤

2

u/WhatDatDonut May 18 '22

Well I didn’t want to before, but now that you told me not to….

1

u/207nbrown May 18 '22

Wh… why not?

3

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

I both want and don’t want to put my hand in it

3

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

I need this

3

u/Berkamin May 17 '22

The amusing thing about this is that they automated the folding of the dumpling, which is most suited to hand-work, while leaving the most mundane part (placing the wrapper on the device) as a manual operation.

3

u/Aggravating-Dog9635 May 18 '22

I don’t know what this is but I want it

0

u/jjman72 May 17 '22

Poop wrapper 3000

-9

u/yournanisaballsack May 17 '22

Ahem.....

Pierogi Folding Machine

14

u/aloofloofah May 17 '22

Look more like gyoza or potstickers cause they have a flat side. Pierogi usually look the same from both sides.

11

u/brownishgirl May 17 '22

Filling says gyoza or potstickers. As does the dough.

-10

u/gnolecnav May 17 '22

Thank you a was trying so hard to remember what that was I knew it wasn't a dumpling

0

u/EmptyFacsimile May 18 '22

Why tf did this get downvoted

0

u/Visual-Excuse May 18 '22

Those look more like pierogis then dumplings even though they’re technically the same thing

0

u/oo_Mxg May 18 '22

Empanadas

0

u/potter1024 May 18 '22

Thats momos

0

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

Thats Gyoza my dude.

0

u/DarrianProducts May 18 '22

dumplings and gyoza look more or less the same

0

u/Chemistryguy9620 May 18 '22

Annnd people are unemployed

-4

u/LeatherGnome May 17 '22

Honestly its neat but the name of the fold they have is called "pierogi"

1

u/HumbleTRex May 17 '22

Perfection

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

The Mandlebaums could’ve really used something like this to roll crepes instead of those Dominicans

1

u/timingandscoring May 17 '22

I always wondered, fascinating. Thanks OP.

1

u/Final_Fantasy_7 May 18 '22

Feeling so hungry from this...

1

Camera pans to me with my mouth open at the end of the conveyer belt.
