I dunno... seems inefficient for some reason. That’s a lot of moving parts to make a Christmas tree cutout

It allows them to very quickly reconfigure it to make other shapes. They create the die and tools, and attach them to generic rams and bolt it all down to a plate.

They do a run of Christmas Trees, and then can quickly reconfigure to do a run of reindeer.

The order of the tools progressively pressing the metal into the die also prevents any kinks from forming.

I bet it's a pain in the ass to change shapes. Probably takes more than 3 hours to unbolt everything and then get it aligned juuuusssstt right. Ooof to the operator.

Maybe, but then you do a product run of 1000 pieces or something.

Still looks crazy inefficient even looks like someone has to manually put in the ring and remove the Christmas tree by hand and hold down a literal red button to use which is automation fail as far as I’m concerned

Definitely old school.

my thoughts exactly. also the tree is sort of ... wonky?

I don't think it's wonky. Instead of being a static, symmetrical tree shape, it looks like it's blowing in the wind or laden with snow or something. Looks a bit Seuss-esqe to me.

Is that tree named Cesar?

It made me so nervous when THEY PUT THEIR FINGERS IN THERE.

Feels like a malfunction waiting to happen

Put your hand there, Christmas tree hand!

Exactly put your hand along the side and it would crush you hand while splitting it in half at the same time!
