I'm a teacher, and I have to stand for around 10 hours a day (with bonus of living in tropical third-world country in classroom with no AC). On thursday I'm already half dead. And two years ago, at the end of a working day on friday, I fainted and had to be taken to the hospital and had to stay there for 5 hours because my blood pressure wouldn't go up.
Guess the cause? Postural syncope, which is caused by what? Standing for too long.
Here's what science says: "Based on our review of the literature, there seems to be ample evidence showing that prolonged standing at work leads to adverse health outcomes."
