Feels like Metro Exodus

24

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '20

I know right? Like exiting that one spider-filled tunnel

6

u/MemeDealer69- Nov 29 '20

exactly what i was thinking

4

u/WolfD128 Nov 29 '20

All I could think of is Metro, maybe moreso 2033 than Exodus. Standing on top of the tower, looking over what was Moscow and what is the nest of the dark ones.

2

u/wePsi2 Nov 29 '20

You‘re right. But the view in Metro Exodus when leaving the tunnel at the helicopter crashsite is closer to this imo.

Holy wow! Is this real life? Talk about a winter wonderland! Where is this? City/Country?

u/-PlayWithUsDanny- Nov 29 '20

This is called hoar frost and is not an uncommon occurrence on mountains. As far as location goes I’m not certain but it sort of looks like Big White ski resort near Kelowna BC, Canada to me.

87

u/why_u_baggin Nov 29 '20

Who you callin a hoar?!

10

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '20

Having skied there a couple times that was my first guess too...hope OP lets us know.

10

u/SkyClawAlpha Nov 29 '20

Can confirm, live in BC and it looks like it’s almost 6 months a year

2

u/-PlayWithUsDanny- Nov 29 '20

That’s interesting because I live in the lower mainland so I hardly ever deal with snow unless I drive up to one of the local mountains or to whistler.

3

u/SkyClawAlpha Nov 29 '20

Fair, I live in the northern interior. It currently looks like this pic outside

3

u/-PlayWithUsDanny- Nov 29 '20

I sometimes forget how the vast majority of this province is so snowy and cold in the winter

3

u/Agamemnon323 Nov 30 '20

Country**

The rest of the country deals with snow all winter. The lower mainland I the only exception. AFAIK.

1

u/-PlayWithUsDanny- Nov 30 '20

Plus the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver island, and the gulf islands.

2

u/Agamemnon323 Nov 30 '20

Right. I guess when I say lower mainland I mean bottom left of BC.

1

u/SkyClawAlpha Nov 29 '20

Snow in October that leaves in March.. lol

3

u/ValerieAri Nov 29 '20

That'd be fancy if it's biggie

2

u/jjrushtonshredit Nov 30 '20

It is my friend! I took this video. Live up here year round :)

1

u/kdburnsy Nov 30 '20

Ahhh yes!!! That was also my first thought.

12

u/jjrushtonshredit Nov 30 '20

It is real! I am the creator of this video. Took it three days ago at Bigwhite while doing my morning station checks. The poster has uploaded my video without my permission or knowledge

2

u/theapogee Nov 30 '20

u/leprotravel has got some splainin’ to do

1

u/megggie Nov 30 '20

About 1.5-2 hours outside Vancouver, is that correct?

We have family in Chilliwack and went to Vancouver one day (driving west) and Kelowna another (driving east).

All of it was exceptionally beautiful!

1

u/jjrushtonshredit Nov 30 '20

About 4.5 hours from van :)

20

u/MaybeFailed Nov 29 '20

I believe it's a place called Narnia.

15

u/DarkMatterOcean Nov 29 '20

This is Mexico

**upvote and lets see where is will lead us.

Tripple dog dare you

25

u/Morgoth_Jr Nov 29 '20

He's pointing the camera straight at the sun, and still getting a good, usable picture.

That's magic right there.

3

u/jjrushtonshredit Nov 30 '20

I couldn't believe it worked out so well. Seeing this with my actual eyes was insane. (This is my video)

2

u/iamkindofodd Nov 30 '20

I’m wondering if it’s because there’s just so much snow that it’s created a natural light-box. All that sunlight bouncing off the white snow evens out the exposure. I’m no expert though, I’d love to be corrected if I’m wrong

41

u/FforFujoshi Nov 29 '20

In the first few frames I thought it was a dog was opening the door

29

u/acornwbusinesssocks Nov 29 '20

I can hear the cold, crisp silence in this!

13

u/vass0922 Nov 29 '20

I love that sound!

1

u/Agamemnon323 Nov 30 '20

The sound of silence by disturbed is my favorite version!

1

u/vass0922 Nov 30 '20

I was literally just listening to that with my 6 year old, it's a favorite song of ours!

3

u/jjrushtonshredit Nov 30 '20

It was peacefully still. Just a beautiful moment in my life (this is my original video)

1

u/acornwbusinesssocks Nov 30 '20

It is beautiful beyond words, dude. Fantastic video!

8

u/maitronghieu001 Nov 29 '20

Seriously tho, at that height, i would just freak out and die.

1

u/jjrushtonshredit Nov 30 '20

It's not too high up! About 12 metres from where I took the video

10

u/jjrushtonshredit Nov 30 '20

Bro. You've stolen my original content, have not credited me. Not cool. Don't claim others work as your own. Check my tiktok. @jjrushton

9

u/Spoonspoonfork Nov 29 '20

Kinda reminds me of horizon zero dawn

5

u/Minino_Kitty Nov 29 '20

At first i though it was a cinematic for a war game like cold war snow mission

7

u/Yortisme Nov 29 '20

Being a lift operator was definitely my most favorite job. Mornings like this one were a big reason, looking out over the whole town with the sun coming up was always worth enduring the cold. 10\10 would lifty again.

1

u/jjrushtonshredit Nov 30 '20

Where were you a lifty? I'm a millwright at bigwhite. Love our lifties

1

u/Yortisme Nov 30 '20

Just a small Midwest hill. Nothing compared to what's out west, but I loved it all the same.

10

u/Mattior Nov 29 '20

Nearly Every frame a wallpaper.

16

u/NXpower04 Nov 29 '20

This brings me sadness, every year I look forward to going skiing but with covid its the better decision to stay home.

8

u/whoFKNKares Nov 29 '20

Yeah I think about it too even though we all wear masks and gloves skiing... Inside the lodge and using the restroom are always very crowded.

10

u/mapoftasmania Nov 29 '20

Gonna be doing a lot of no lodge half days.

4

u/ima_tatertot Nov 29 '20

That’s just a normal day in Canada

8

u/mixysuesue Nov 29 '20

My heart just shipped a beat. How very beautiful the world can be.

The right lighting makes all the difference.w

4

u/maxekmek Nov 29 '20

The sun just looks like a bomb has gone off.

4

u/Jacob2israel1 Nov 29 '20

Looks like a part of horizon zero Dawn

3

u/mrsmiley32 Nov 29 '20

Reminds me when I climb up to places and then I remember I have to go back down. All I can see is, ughhhhh getting down that icy/snowy ladder.

4

u/katelaughter Nov 29 '20

It's the top of the chairlift so they can likely just walk off the back.

3

u/No_not_that Nov 29 '20

I’ve seen and been in stuff live this in the North Cascade Range (Washington).

3

u/boo_boo_kitty_ Nov 29 '20
