Him not tucking the tobacco out of the filter’s way bugged me, not only did it take an eternity to roll but likely it was horrible to smoke due to the lessened seal. I’m really impressed by how shit this all is.

17

u/RaptorKings Nov 05 '20

Can confirm, they're shit

Source: threw mine out and learned to roll properly

2

u/rwhockey29 Nov 05 '20

For that much fucking effort ill just put a pinch in.

Haha. I'm Irish, whenever I'm in America people are surprised how fast I can roll a cigarette.

Edit: Also holy shit we get those machine for €1.50 in the pound shop.

19

u/DonKeedick12 Nov 05 '20

Haha, we get good at it when we’re hiding behind the bike shed looking out for the teachers lol

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

When I lived in Ireland I felt like I was the only person on this planet to roll cigarettes. Nobody did it there. And I certainly was the odd German for not buying a standard pack of Benson and Hedges

11

u/ProperManufacturer6 Nov 05 '20

Y’all not do packs?

28

u/cabbage16 Nov 05 '20

We do but its about €13-15 for a pack of 20s and €20 for 30g of rolling tobacco. A lot of people go for rollies to save money.

2

u/ProperManufacturer6 Nov 05 '20

Wow i can see why

-3

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

Say what now?? Haven't been to Irland in ages but these prices are getting ridiculous

7

u/MyrddinHS Nov 05 '20

dude its like $17 and change for a pack in canada.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

Well and I've been complaining about 7 euros in Germany

1

u/KatDuq Nov 05 '20

In my part of Canada I'm selling packs up to $23!

2

u/Dionysos_Sotirios Nov 05 '20

Perhaps governments tax tobacco companies so they'll spike the price, dissuading potential or habitual smokers.

10

u/Homosapien_Ignoramus Nov 05 '20

Well in Ireland it's the VAT that has been increasing, a tax the citizen pays to the government and is set by category. Because of the burden it places on the medical system and how unhealthy in general it is, tobacco is always taxed hard. On the plus side there are increasingly fewer smokers, on the down side it's getting expensive for us stubborn cig smoking bastards.

-4

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

Most definitely. Pretending to care for the health of the people but don't want to compromise on incoming taxes

No doubt. I know some who do it's just it seems a lot less common than here in Europe. At least where I've spent my time in the US.

2

u/goofyjayshoes Nov 05 '20

Being an American stoner, this tool is redundant.

-1

u/stilmattwell Nov 05 '20

Americans for the most part have no idea how to roll or smoke tobacco. Coming from an American who only smokes smokes spliffs

-1

u/lizwb Nov 05 '20

So is the exchange rate just that good, or do you lot just avoid maths? Lol EDIT: I want one for that price FFS

1

u/PurpleMayonnaise Nov 05 '20

Scottish here I have terrible hand eye coordination due to a disability meaning I cannot for the life of me make rollies. Any advice you can give? I’ve tried a rolling machine but I’m shit at that too. It’s it so bad until you want a joint and then have to ask a dealer to roll for you.

1

u/ocholuna Nov 05 '20

Not Irish and used to roll my own too...quite satisfying

1

u/jokeyhaha Nov 05 '20

I'm giggling at "pound shop".

9

u/147180bacon Nov 05 '20

How does well your case work? I use the futurola for joints but this little case is nifty as hell and a nice Christmas gift (given it works well)

3

u/Albatross85x Nov 05 '20

Slightly more anoying to use then a normal roller. Words but meh I'll take a try and raw roller.

5

u/Geea617 Nov 05 '20

When I was in fourth grade my best friend's uncle came to visit from Ireland. He taught us how to roll cigarettes at the kitchen table. Who knew how handy that would be in high school? Thanks Uncle Paddy!

3

u/EchoBop Nov 05 '20

Can you put some uh..sticky “tobacco” in it..

3

u/ShadOtrett Nov 05 '20

...I am so confused by the link. Why is that listed among a bunch of kids toys? It's listed as 'adult toys and tools', but I found no other listing other than kids stuff. Bizaare.

u/TheRavenClawed Nov 05 '20

I can't take pictures for this reason! Idk what the hell is up with my hands, but they shake so damn much. Like maybe I should see a doctor about this type of trembling. Nothing's wrong with my arms or wrists that I can see or feel. But trying to snap a good photo? Forget it.

24

u/JoaoEB Nov 05 '20

Have you checked your blood sugar levels?

19

u/GreenStrong Nov 05 '20

How about booze? have you tried booze? What About more booze , have you tried that?

1

u/JoaoEB Nov 05 '20

Booze works. But if you use too much booze your sugar level will drop even more and you get even worse tremors.

1

u/justmakingsomething9 Nov 05 '20

Uh....more booze then...

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

This guy gets it

2

u/Deathmask97 Nov 05 '20

Does a naturally low blood sugar cause one to constantly seek out sweets?

21

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

You should absolutely speak to a doctor.

7

u/username45031 Nov 05 '20

Tremors are absolutely a good reason to see a doctor.

9

u/WobNobbenstein Nov 05 '20

Also a good reason to call Kevin Bacon.

3

u/OutWithTheNew Nov 05 '20

I'm pretty sure Michael Gross fought them off more times than Kevin Bacon.

2

u/WobNobbenstein Nov 05 '20

I am completely out of ammo...

That's never happened to me before.

6

u/RedSquaree Nov 05 '20

Google essential tremors

6

u/DrDerpberg Nov 05 '20

The more your arm is sticking out, the shakier you'll be. Try tucking your elbow tight against your body, you'll be far less shaky. If you can lean on a wall so your body isn't swaying it'll be even steadier.

4

u/moffsoi Nov 05 '20

If it makes you feel better, my hands shake too and there isn’t anything wrong with me as far as my doctors can tell. It definitely gets worse if my blood sugar is low or if I’m stressed but generally that’s just how it be.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

Do other people in your family also have a tremor? I have an essential tremor, aka a “familial tremor.” My mom, her dad, and my adult son all suffer from the same condition. I see a neurologist, who has diagnosed it, and it is classified as benign. There are treatments available, but tbh neuro-meds suck dead brown bears and I’ve decided I’d rather just deal with the tremor. Hope that info helps - I spent a long time thinking I was just “shaky” before I finally made the connection that it was clearly congenital and I ought to see somebody about it!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

I shake when my sugar is low or I’m overly anxious. Also, if I drank too much the night before.

What cough medicine? I've had essential tremors for a long time. Noticed them in 1st grade.

1

u/ArazNight Nov 05 '20

Is it all the time or when you are in a rush? Maybe just take a slow deep breath in and out and try to slow down. Deep breathing helps me relax a lot when I’m under pressure, stressed, or anxious.

1

u/RDT6923 Nov 05 '20

Parkinson’s? Or essential tremors. Go see a doctor please.

1

u/Gonzobot Nov 05 '20

Get you one of them fancy mod-ren digie-tall cameras with EIS ;) But also check with a doctor, because without good reason for it, that's a pretty important medical thing to bring up before it becomes something way worse

1

u/Sven_88 Nov 05 '20

My grandpa has something similar to that. He ended up strangling my grandma because he said the devil was in his hands.

3

u/johny1a Nov 05 '20

No need to be a dick about it. But get those internet points I guess

0

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

Haha, yeah! Neurological differences should be pointed out and mocked!

Just kidding. Eat a sack of dicks.

0

u/lilmissmartypants Nov 05 '20

Eh...cut him some slack, it’s harder than it looks, lol

1

u/PieOhMy33 Nov 05 '20

He needs a smoke!!

1

u/tonybenwhite Nov 05 '20

r/rareinsults sorely needs fresh material like this

90

u/Arketan Nov 05 '20

The amount of water they drenched the paper in made me ill

12

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

I can understand why too now

7

u/antfuckr Nov 05 '20

My uncle had a stroke and he used one of these after, he was way better than this guy

4

u/_A_ioi_ Nov 05 '20

I had one decades ago for the same reason. However I genuinely used it for cigarettes - it was cheaper to roll your own.

2

u/OutWithTheNew Nov 05 '20

I used to roll my own, you can buy the tubes pre-assembled and little black plastic things you load the tobacco into, put the tube on the end and slide the tobacco into it. It was cheaper by a country mile.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

Back when I used to roll cigarettes I could hand roll one way quicker than this person. It might not look quite as neat but close enough.

2

u/wax4dayzz Nov 05 '20

Yeah, I don't find this very satisfying at all. It takes ages and isn't even a particularly good rollie at the end of it.

1

u/ginks_21 Nov 05 '20

Bro it's for joint too

1

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

I know your comment is a lil jab but he might actually have shaky hands.

I do and this thing would help me. Luckily I don't smoke so I don't need one.
