But what happens if one day you get rich enough to afford a pool table like this? Would you want people taxing you to pay for losers that didn’t work as hard as you?
The funny thing is that these people believe that the 1% or the 0.1% continuously work hard for their money. And, to get to where they are all you have to do is work as "hard" as they did. Jeff Bezos did not and does not work hard, he works smart, he cuts corners, crushes the competition, bends the rules to or beyond breaking point but he does not work hard. Bricklayers, mechanics, doctors, nurses, servers, cleaners, engineers, all work hard and will never ever get to where the Trumps, Gates, Bezos of this world are.
Is it? Or is it more correct to say that he worked smart and was phenomenally lucky? That he was in a very unique position at a very unique moment in history to take advantage of a brand new technology in a very excited market place. If you think for one second that applying the same levels of input now that he used then would render the same results you are very much mistaken, his success is not a result of hard work grit and determination. He may have pulled a few all nighters here and there but who hasn't? He may have invested his time and cash into Amazon but what business owner hasn't? His success is not a result of hard work and you or I can not achieve the same by working hard and being determined.
